Well, I haven’t gone there, as I do not live in the area, but I would think it would only be worth it if you have a dress budget that matches what they sell.  I would not want to fall in love with a $6000 dress if my budget was $1500.

Yes, it is absolutely worth it. I’m from GA and have flown up there twice and bought my dress from them. I have also gone to Bridal’s by Lori since I live just outside of Atlanta and their service is no where near Kleinfeld’s. I thought it would be kind of a shitshow because of all the hype, but I was so wrong. My consultant was Kat, both times, and she is AMAZING!! Also, like you we are eloping. It has been my dream since I was 15 to get a Pnina. And that is what I ended up with!

sway0060:  Big fat no. I went there for fun with family, but seriously would have been just as pleased to find my dress there so I was prepared to buy if I found “the one”. Not only is their selection not that great, it felt like I was in a wedding factory. The whole process of even just getting an appointment was so impersonal, I hated it. I did have one of the ladies from the show as my sales person and she wasn’t mean, but she wasn’t pleasant either. She acted like my budget of under 8K was pathetic, and she didn’t show me a single dress that I had asked for (I specifically wanted cap sleeves which they didn’t have in 2012 when I shopped). Instead she showed me nothing but dresses from one designer simply because they were having a trunk show. I listed a couple designers that I loved and she didn’t bring me a single dress from them. It was just annoying, and I was nothing but a number.

There are some amazing bridal stores in NYC and I would definitely check them out if you’re dress shopping there. I ended up getting my dress from the Amsale flagship salon on Madison. If budget isn’t a concern, you should check out Mark Ingram Atelier. I still kick myself for not going there before making my final decision.

They probably don’t have any appointments still available next week. I had to book mine about a month in advance (but maybe because I did it during the busy summer season during a big trunk show?) Anyway, no harm in checking if it’s even possible.
