    Hi Bees!

So i am headed to Kleinfield's today for some early dress shopping. I printed out my "top 5" like they said. Most of the dresses are out of my budget, but I really wanted to go for the experience and to try on some new silhouettes, but who knows ??

Any thing I should know before I go?

HAVE FUN!  All the dresses there were out of my budget, but I went for the experience and LOVED it.  Of course I fell in love with a $10k dress that was just way out of my price range, but I enjoyed every minute of being there.  And I got great ideas for what I wanted my dress to look like.

I bought my dress from Kleinfeld's back in Sept '08.  I had already been to 1 other dress shop in NYC before going there but still wasn't sure what to expect because I have heard great things and not-so-great things about Kleinfeld's.  Everyone there was SO nice and accommodating.  I felt like everyone was falling all over me to help find my dress.  My advice... be very honest with the sales person and don't budge on price (they will try to "up sell" you).  Also, don't feel rushed even if you see them looking at their watches or (in my case) you're the only one left in the store.  It's a big purchase and big deal so take your time even if they try to rush you (I think each person is supposed to have 1 hour appointment).  They ended up showing me a dress that wasn't exactly what I thought I wanted but I tried it on and loved it, so they definitely do know what they are talking about!

I'm going there too and heard about the exorbitant prices, but there's a sample sale once a month so I'm going there the day of the sample sale which is more within my budget, the sales go down as low as $800, in the mag I saw it said $499, when I called they said 800; I'm not willing to spend 2000-7000 on a dress I'm only going to use once; but I do want to treat myself so it's not out of question but I'll be looking at the lower priced dresses

Okay well i went and I LOVED it. and I bought my dress!!

I will admit it was over budget but there was a sample sale and it was alot closer to my budget than I had imagined. I had Rosaria for a sales lady and she as patient, kind, and helpful. No one rushes you and all of the staff help and give  you there opinions. They do want you to buy and are very good at what they do, but to be honest the quality of the dresses and the services are top notch so its not like you are getting scammed or anything.  I would recommend it for sure, and be prepared to swoon.

I've read some brides saying their consulstants didn't let them look through the racks, which would piss me off! My consultant let me look through the racks to pick out what I wanted to try on, and I know she's not the only one 'cause there were a couple other brides there with me.

Kleinfeld is great for finding out exactly what kind of dresses you want since they let you try on so many dresses (I think I tried on about 12-15.) And these consultants know what they're talking about! Even if you think you found your dream dress, I say sit on it for a couple days and then decide. I totally fell in love with a dress that was twice my budget, was thisclose to buying it when my sister-in-law advised me to look a little more, you can always come back to it... and I ended up getting a dress very similar to my "dream dress" for quarter of the price.

Either way have FUN... I think it's an experience that every NYC bride should have!
