Have you read the Confessions of a Shopaholic series? They're really lighthearted and funny and have a wedding (eventually).
Have you read The Nanny Diaries? Don't let the movie version fool you; the book is SO good and super funny!
@mlbiaso - I'm looking forward to her next book "Committed." It's supposed to have a lot of good stuff in it about marriage, preparing for marriage, etc.
My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. I read the book before the movie and it is soooo much better than the movie--the story line is completely different.
I just got "are you there vodka, its me chelsea" by Chelsea Handler. I remember when I was young, my Mother made me ready the book, "are you there god its me margaret" So when I saw this I was like, "hahaha, gotta buy it" I love her anyway, I wish she was my bff. So far I've only had time to read like 3 pages but she's flipping hysterical! Why won't she come to my wedding?!?!? I kid, I kid. But its funny and light. I tend to read mostly non-fictions that are really dramatic or sad stories and wonder why I'm emotionally drained. This is a nice contrast.
Second the Chelsea Handler books. My Horizontal Life is also good.
I love the Sookie Stackhouse books too. Exciting but easy reads.
If you're a dog person, The Art of Racing in the Rain is an amazing book.
If you haven't read it yet, try to get a copy of The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenger. I never saw the movie this summer but the book is lovely.
Have you read Nicholas Sparks "The Wedding"? Soooo good :)
Kind of wedding related.. as in relationship related - Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers = Favourite
I just started reading Three Cups of Tea, which is about building schools in Pakistan. It's pretty great so far.
If you're looking for something light and airy Cecelia Ahren is great (she wrote PS I Love You). Jodi Piccoult's The Pact is another love story.
WATER FOR ELEPHANTS is a fantastic book.
THE ART OF RACING IN THE RAIN is also fantastic, esp if you are a dog lover!!
Ooh, recently I also read "Letters To A Love Rat" (I forget who by) and that was a fun book. A bit of a beach type read but super light and it's got some great love stories. My other chick-lit favourites were Marian Keyes' books. They're all pretty much like the Shopaholic series.
I love anything by Nicholas Sparks or Anita Shreve. I still have Sparks' The Choice and The Lucky One to read and I hear they're great. My all time favorites by Anita Shreve are The Pilot's Wife and Eden Close. Both romantic and touching. She's got a wedding one too, but I can't recall the name.
OH, The Pact :'( BAWLED my eyes out...just a warning. :) I bought the "Dear John" book by Nicholas Sparks...I read about a page and made hubs hide it from me, I was crying already. (In my defense, hubs was about to deploy) and I still haven't picked it up and read it. That movie is coming out soon, so I will probably read the book. I loved the Twilight series even though I swore I wouldn't ever read them. Have you bees read The Guardian by N. Sparks? IT WAS AWESOME!!! Anyway, I am going to stalk this post because I need some good reading material too. :)
I'm a huge Nicholas Sparks fan and Jodi Piccoult too! If you like love stories, read Emily Giffin's books..Something Borrowed or Something Blue!! I loved those books!
I'm going to second the Emily Giffin suggestion...I'm so-so on chick lit, but I really liked Something Borrowed and Something Blue. Plus, both are related to weddings!
I just finished "The Help" last night. It was very well written and so interesting to read each woman's story.
The Shadow in the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon is one of my favorite books ever. It's not so much about weddings, but there are a couple of love stories embedded in it. Trust me, it's worth reading!
@duckling: I heard The Help is an awesome book. My BF's mom just gave it to me to read, and I'm looking forward to it!
I"m more of an author person, so here are some authors that you're gonna enjoy anything by them:
Jodi Piccoult
Emily Giffin
Marian Keyes
Also, my answer every time I hear this question is "The Lovely Bones" - most. amazing. book. ever!
@jingle : i was TOTALLY going to suggest those two books!! such an easy read :)
this is what crazy looks like on an ordinary day
the lovely bones
feast of love
I loved the Nora Roberts "Vision in White" and can't wait to read "Bed of Roses" both are wedding related!! I hope you enjoy!
@Volleybride - Bed of Roses is amazing!!! I loved it just as much as vision in white.
I love the Stephanie Plum novels by Janet Evanovich. They are laugh out loud hilarious (seriously, you can hear me laughing at times when I'm reading them at the gym) and very easy to read.

I am looking for a few good books to read over the New Year’s weekend, and I thought there is no better place to get advice than weddingbee. I love Nicholas Sparks books, anything cute, romantic, has something to do with a wedding, funny. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
