FH and I are thinking of doing a ballroom dance for our bridal party dance and were looking for some help with finding what kind of dance we should do.  Here's the scoop... we have 6 GM's/BM's so including us there will be 7 couples dancing.  Only one person has ever ballroom danced so it needs to be something relatively easy to pick up - but on the same token, we don't want it to look to boring.

We were hoping to use the song The Way You Look Tonight (Frank Sinatra's version).  When I googled it, the style of dance that pops up is the foxtrot but I'm not in love with the foxtrot at all.

    Any suggestions?

    How about

"Get The Party Started" by Pink --> cha cha

It's a 4-beat-per-measure dance so you can always work some modern moves to spice up the basic cha.

"So She Dances" by Josh Groban --> waltz

Waltz is easy to learn and can be pretty cool when doing a circular formation (group dance).

"The Way You Make Me Feel" by Michael Jackson --> slow swing

This could be a really cute triple step swing with a few neat breaks in the music...the song is slow enough and the beat heavy enough for beginners to pick up.

If you really want to stick with Sinatra's "The Way You Look Tonight", you can do a triple swing to it.  Beat-wise, it would still work out.

How about "Sway" by Dean Martin? (It starts : "When the rhythm starts to play/dance with me/make me sway"..)

It's actually a slow rhumba -the dance of love(remember "Strictly Ballroom?"..) - a wonderful beat and very easy to dance to and such a great song. The original version by Dean Martin is the best, but there's a famous cover for it that's not bad, I think by Harry Connick jr if I'm not mistaken.
