I bought several bags and just couldn't get over the SMELL when I rinsed them off. The smell was so bad that I didn't even eat one bite.

Miss. Meatball wrote 2 posts on her experience with konjac shirataki noodles, and I tried them for the first time today. I split the package with my husband and he didn't mind the texture at all (he says the texture is similar to saurkraut). I rinsed the noodles in hot water - and yes, they do sort of smell fishy when they come out of the bag. I held my breath while rinsing. To fully get rid of the smell, I sauteed garlic and some olive oil, dumped the noodles in, added 2 wedges of Laughin Cow cheese, and some fat free parmesam cheese. The noodles we're half bad! I have another package that I'm going to test out with spaghetti sauce before I commit to the big package Miss Meatball bought, but I'm thinking I will probably buy it.
Has anyone else tried them? Experiences? Recipes? The aftermath (it is pure fiber, afterall)?
