So I am a Wedding Consultant and am also planning my own wedding for December 4, 2010.  I am located in San Jose, CA but I really want to do my engagement shoot in Los Angeles.  I saw photos from another engagement shoot at the Lamp Posts at the LA County Museum of Art.  They were stunning and I decided I had to have a shoot there.  As well as the Mann Chinese Theatre.  Our wedding theme is Old Hollywood Glamour so I'd like to stick to places with that in mind.  If anyone has other suggestions for locations in that area, that would be wonderful.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for photographers in the LA area.  Our budget is probably $300 or under.  Thanks!

Try Dacia Lamb of Dacia Lamb Photography.  She did our engagement pics -- she's terrific!  www.dacialamb.com

I'm don't know a photographer, but I do suggest taking pictures at the Huntington Library.  It is gorgeous there. I believe you have to call them to make an appointment.  I'm not sure how much it costs to take pictures there. =) GOOD LUCK

If your theme is Old Hollywood, take photos at the Hollywood sign!  We're also thinking of going up there for our e-pics...

How about using The Grove/LA Farmer's Market as a backdrop?  You could also try all the funky shops on Melrose (near Fairfax & Melrose) like Aardvark's and Crossroads.  There's also a lot of small, old theaters in the area.

We took some photos in Griffith Park and at the Observatory. It's free to go up there. Our pics from there are very 'classic' looking--turned out great!  You can definitely see the Hollywood sign best from up there too!
