Hello bees! Long time reader, first time poster…
My fiance and I have been searching for a ceremony location we love for a YEAR. (In a nutshell: we are not religious, so churches = out. Can’t afford London WeHo, or that would be a no-brainer (tho their dirty silverware in the restaurant did not impress me much!) Everything else we see that would serve as a combo location means we have to sacrifice what we want for either ceremony or reception – neither of which we want to do. We’re also trying not to spend a fortune, which, in a city full of movie studio budgets, is a difficult thing to do!
So fast forward to yesterday… I hadn’t thought of Greystone as a ceremony-only location until this weekend. We’re pretty excited at this prospect… it’s really perfect – a garden but with a city view. One of my BMs lives in Beverly Hills, so I think we can go the reserving 9 months out route if they’ll allow it… but that still makes me REALLY nervous. With the apparent popularity of this location, I’m thinking the brides who get to reserve earlier will likely take up all the dates. (Those couples who opt to have reception there too – but mandatory ending at 8pm? Lame!)
So… Has anyone here reserved Greystone for ceremony only? Were you even able to get your desired date at only 9 months out? Do you have any suggestions for good backup locations to have in my back pocket in case 9 months out arrives, and our entire prospective MONTH is gone?
Really appreciate any feedback you ladies can offer. I’m such a planner that the thought of being a bit more risky with something as important as the wedding practically gives me hives. But this location is just so perfect. If they’d let me pay more to reserve it now, I would!
Love to you all!
