Looks like the West Side is in the lead. Anyone want to start planning logistics? I'm way out in in the SGV so I think it'd be better if someone closer to the scene takes the lead here... :)
To be honest I dont know where it falls on the poll, maybe Southbay, but I say around Long Beach!
naangel--I would say that would be South Bay. ;) I know I consider Manhattan Beach and Palos Verdes as South Bay, and Long Beach is right below that, isn't it?
I'm on the Westside (live in MDR, stomping grounds all OVER the westside), so I'm happy to help...but may be another poll could be taken to determine the style of the meet-up? Like price range, time of day, a day, menu/eating restrictions or preferences, etc.
Oh I bet any happy hour type menu ought to work ;). I could probably make it to a west side meet-up as long as we can plan it around peak traffic hours, too. :)

@marigold: so does planning around peak traffic mean an EARLY/LATE happy hour (before 4 or after 7) or in order to miss traffic (meet around 5:45 to stay until around 7:45 to avoid traffic)?

Yeah, I think if it's a weekday then ending after 7ish ought to do it. I had a class in Westwood that ended at 6PM and OH MY GOD I felt like I was going to die in my car on the way home every single day. ;)
I think #3 sounds pretty cool... and I'm always swayed by easy parking. ;) I've also heard good things about 26 Beach!
Id love to go but could only make it to the LA area if its either after 7pm on a weekday or on a weekend any time. I dont get out of work until 6pm and traffic is horrible!

@ mrspaetz: maybe next, next week, meaning week of Nov. 2 - 6 (or 7 & 8, if we decide on weekend); that way we have time to plan & get the word out. Plus it won't interfere with people's possible Halloween plans.

Id say either, - I work some weekends so it really just depends when the weekend date would be to know if it would work. Best bet would be weekday for me most likely though. Or a Sunday!
Weekday evening after 5:30 would work for me. If you do it on the westside, traffic is especially hideous around that time.
I'm a recently married bee, but am interested in tagging along if that's okay with y'all. I am on the westside as well. I've been to Piknic and think it'd be great for this sort of an event. Plus, the parking is a bonus. I could do any weeknight except Tuesdays after 6:30p. The week of 11/2 is tight for me, but the following week is good. I'm happy to help organize if needed. Hooray!
I vote weekday, but some weekends also work for me (they tend to fill up fast though, and I'm totally out this weekend and Nov. 7). I'm fine with any time in the evening after 6 (after 7 on Tuesdays). I can't wait to meet you ladies! And of course you're welcome, bqsualum ;)
@ bgsualum: I know I'd LOVE to hear your insight from "the otherside" as it were! And it'd be great planning together with someone.
Recap on the responses: seems like weekdays after 6pm suit most of us...and maybe the week of 11/9, to be as inclusive as possible. Any thoughts on holding this on Veteran's Day (11/11, Wednesday)? Might be easier on traffic, since some get a holiday?
Veteran's Day works for me! Shall we do a poll for that day to determine a reservation number? What say you, @ms.pascua?

So in another thread some of the LA girls were talking about a meet-up and I thought a poll might be helpful to see where people might be able to meet. Please vote for any of these that you'd be willing to go to (you can select more than one) and maybe we can find a place where most people would be able to make it. :)
And feel free to suggest any general region that I missed and I'll add it to the poll if I can... for growing up in LA and Ventura Counties my whole life I really don't know my way around. ;)
