Does anyone haved feedback on the sound system at La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes Estates, CA?
I went for a visit this weekend and absolutely fell in love with the venue. When my mom contacted the DJ/MC who has done everyone’s wedding in my family and circle of friends, he discouraged me from getting married there. His exact words were: "So, if you’re okay with the décor and location being GORGEOUS, but sacrificing by having most guests in separate rooms, not interacting, not dancing and having fun, then this is the place for you…if not, I would seriously shop around." He said he couldn’t do it because the venue won’t let him bring in his own sound system.
My mom has hinted that I should consider looking at other venues, but the location is breathtaking and I can picture myself getting married there. I don’t know what to do!

TOTALLY disagree. My close friends’ wedding was there and it was one of the best I have been to, and I met just about everybody there. Dancing was in the main big room that opens to the courtyard, and everyone was dancing. I know they had a DJ but I can’t recall anything about the sound system. Clearly it was fine otherwise I would have noticed. It was a smaller wedding, maybe 80 people, so I don’t know if that was what made it work for that venue. Also, the food was good that night.

I got married at La Venta a few years ago and didn’t have any problems with their sound system. Their food and service on top of the venue was outstanding.
The key to have your guest interacting and dancing is…BE at the dance floor dancing with your groom and your guest will follow suit!
Good luck with wedding planning!
