L.A venue

posted 6 months ago in Los Angeles

Hi girls, I am desperately asking for your help!.

I am still on the search for our wedding reception!!!We already have the ceremony booked. but we cant seem to find a reception site. Im possibly being too picky, its hard not to be picky when you have all this information in your head and visions that just dont seem to come together in the site we've visited already. I am hoping to find somewhere where we can bring our own catering.

* Ed. note: at this point im looking for catered and none catered venues.

Big enough for 250 guests. Our wedding is in July of 2009. Sometimes im close to booking something and then i get second thoughts. Im feeling pressured, am i running out of time? I cant believe Im stressing so much this early on!!!

help my fellow L.A Peeps! Do you know of something in the L.A or south bay Area? (torrance, Gardena?)

mountaingate country club is really beautiful and can accommodate a large number of guest.

There's also balboa bay beach club in malibu

I fell in love with LA Venta in palos verdes, but it was already booked.  Not sure how large a guest count they can handle...

I went to a wedding at the museum of california art in pasadena - beautiful rooftop terrace and you can bring in your own catering

Or- the long beach museum of art is beautiful as well

where have you been looking?

I found a lot of excellent places on these two websites:

www.herecomestheguide.com

http://www.laconservancy.org

The first website goes by your region - the second, if you scroll down to the bottom and click where it says "historic sites for special events" will take you to a page that lists sites from A-Z where you can have your reception. I found two places that I really wanted to have our reception (one from each site) but didn't go with either because of the budget - definately wish I would have.

Olympic Collection in West LA is where we are having our reception. It's a great venue and they have great chefs that can whip up any kind of food you'd like!
