Well with four months left, I'm just wondering what everyone has left to do...My big project for this month is to start working on invitations...I figure if I work on them a little every week-end they will be done by the end of the month, maybe even beforehand.  Then on to all of the other paper DIY stuff like programs and menu cards.  Soooooo...what do you have left to do?

Ugh! So much! I have to

    • proof and order the invites (we got the proof this morning! yay!)
    • Find what music we'll use for the ceremony
    • Find a baker!
    • Find a hair person in my remote town that will come up to the wedding site
    • Find/make the sashes for my dress
    • Get the groom to order his tuxes/get his guys in order
    • Make most of our print items (menu/seating/in-room/tables/directions/etc)
    • Consider finding a new officiant (long story: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/sad-need-help-choosing-new-officiant)
    • Get bm gifts engraved
    • find groom's gift
    • decide/buy favors
    • Decide on readings/ music for ceremony
    • Order dog's ring bearer collar
    • Decide on what food we'll have for the reception
I think that's all for now off the top of my head. It feels like I have a lot, but I think it's fairly small. Because we are getting married in such a remote area a lot of it is going A LOT slower than I'd like.

Sometimes I swear I read the blog posts for October brides and I feel like they are so far ahead of me! ahh!  Invitations got ordered, now I just need to write out all of the addresses, which will be tedious! I am going to check my dress on Friday, and schedule my fittings then! I do still need to do wedding bands, which makes me alittle nervous.  Do I need to do this asap, or can I wait a few more weeks? anyone had experience with how long the bands take to come in?

I hope to work on my invitations this week.  I bought them at Target.  I think I figured out the wording, not I have to work on printing them.  I have most of my readings possibly figured out. I have my favors, olive oil bottles.

What I've done so far is:

    • Booked the venue
    • Hired the photographer
    • Purchased invites (which are coming in this week Labor Day week-end Brides9/4-7: What do you have left to do? : wedding september labor day diy reception invitations beehive Icon Biggrin)
    • Purchased dress (which I will be going in for another fitting in July)
    • Made sure most of my bridesmaids purchased their dresses (3 out of 5)
    • Bought ribbon to add to invitations
    • Slowly buying vases or candy jars for the candy buffet
    • Organized the guestlist and address
    • Turned in all Church related documents
    • Bought containers for candy buffet

What I need to do is:

    • Book the appointment for the groomsmen to get their tuxes
    • Make sure that the other 2 bridesmaids get there dresses
    • Go to flowermarket to see how that works
    • Make sure FI hires the DJ
    • Look for a mariachi
    • Book appointment for hair and make-up
    • DIY programs, table numbers, place cards
    • Prepare emergency kit
    • Prepare bathroom kit for the guest (male and female)
    • Buy candy for the buffet
    • Rent a car
    • Find a videographer
    • Buy stamps

    etc...etc...

Wow... I just made myself tired I still have a lot to do.  Once school is over this quarter I will get on it but until then I'm doing things slowly.

    Good luck with everyone's planning!!

<font size="2" color="#81a026">pvaulter718</font>  just work on a little at a time....trust me you'll get through it!!! regarding wedding bands...it depends on where you order your bands from...some can take a week others if you have them engraved can take 2 weeks or more...so it depends.

    good luck everyone!!!!!!

ok back to working on invitations again...

We got wedding bands this past weekend! Yay! I kept going back and forth, which was why we hadn't ordered them in the first place.  But we ordered them on Saturday and they should be ready to be picked up in 2 - 3 weeks! woohoo! CHECK!

I actually feel like I'm pretty far along.

We have all of our vendors booked, dresses ordered, and ring bearers suits purchased. All of the accessories are done for me and my bridesmaids. I have all of the decorations purchased, just need to put them together. I have the bathroom basket items and emergency kit items purchased.  I've finalized the cake and the flowers.  Also, the setup and decorations for the ceremony and the reception site.

I have gifts for my bridesmaids, ringbearers and readers.  Still need to buy gifts for parents, groomsmen and personal attendants.

We still need to get the groomsmen in for their tuxes. And we are ordering invitations this week.  We'll need to print off ceremony programs, menus, signs, etc.

I feel pretty good about where we're at..... 109 days and counting...

We're pretty far along with the big things, but my smaller item to-do list is a mile long. Our invitations are going to the printer today, and I'm 1/2 way through the calligraphy. I need to buy my veil and find earrings and then the rest of the stuff are little details that we'll have to just check off slowly but surely.

I really can't believe it's less than 4 months away now!

Oh crap, and we need wedding bands, thanks for the reminder pvaulter718!

We are in pretty good shape but at the same time the weekends are rapidly filling up with things to do:

    • Finalize favor packaging/ make all of them
    • Finish booking honeymoon (we have flights and a basic plan outlined need to book hotels)
    • Fill outband information sheet with song requests
    •  Finalize ceremony music
    • Finalize ceremony/ readers etc.
    • Take Engagement pictures
    • Design escort cards/ table numbers
    • Send invitations to calligrapher
    • Get groom/ GM measured for tuxes
    • Dress fittings
    • Finish buying attendant/ parent gifts
    • Create wedding day timeline
    • Final hair/ makeup trials
    • Get marriage license (can't go until 60 days before in PA)
While it is a long list they are all managable little tasks.

I have to admit that I had a mini panic attack after reading this thread the other day. I now have a new, revised to-do list and have started breaking it out into shorter to-do-this-week lists....And we tried on wedding bands yesterday.

    Is anyone else getting anxious?

This weekend is going to need to be a productive one for me! I know I need to make final decisions on some things like flowers, centerpieces, card basket.  I'm terrible at making decisions and will admit that I tend to wait until the last minute to make a decision.  I mean, what if I see something that is an even better idea on Weddingbee after I've already bought something - ahh!

I still have 92 things left to do on my list. 153 things if you count the daily "BREATHE!" Sometimes I do that one a few times.

Breathe - I might need to add that one to my to-do list.  Although, I think my fiance tells me that about every 5 minutes.  Like the time I glued my hand to the tile floor.  Or when 12 members of my family from the Netherlands thought they would join us for our weeklong honeymoon in Miami...

Way too much stuff but I live abroad and a lot of it will be rushed in the last 3 weeks when I get to NY because I can't get it done here, including getting my dress altered! Uh-oh...

My top priority right now is to get in touch with my florist/decorator, who I think doesn't like me and/or is ignoring me. Labor Day week-end Brides9/4-7: What do you have left to do? : wedding september labor day diy reception invitations beehive Icon Eek

I'm FINALLY getting my invitations out tomorrow... I know... I'm so bad! We had a major hiccup in getting them... which is a whole other frustrating story... but we finally have them and we are putting them all together tonight and sending them out!

Then... on to the next projects. We're finalizing the menu, song list and firming up details with the light guy this week.

RSVP's have started coming in!! I know doing my own calligraphy on the Placecards will be time consuming, so I've started doing names as the RSVP's com back, then I'll just add the table numbers when the seating arranagements get finalized.  Had my second dress fitting on Saturday, and it's almost perfect! yay!

This week's goal - menus and programs!

My RSVPs are sloooowwwwly coming in. I've had one returned one (and the guest swears that's the right address) and another one that has mysteriously gotten lost in mail space(???). So it doesn't give me too much faith in the USPS.

Next up is decorating the gigantic cupcake tree, finding shoes and jewelry, and putting together favor bags. Plus about 100 other things...

My RSVPs are slowly coming in as well. I actually sent out a reminder email last Friday to those that I haven't received any card or notice from. Hopefully this gives them a kick in the butt since the deadline is next Monday.

As of today we are at 131 Yes, 49 No and 109 left to respond.

This past weekend we did accomplish a lot =). We got my shoes, our rings, my MOH dress, shoes and jewelry. We also worked on a few DIY tasks... I am getting even more excited!

We are *this* close to finalizing our honeymoon plans! I can't believe I let my FI wait this long - but it was one thing I didn't want to stress about!

And now I'm working on finishing up the vows.

This week we are going to get the marriage license.

My RSVP deadline is in 2 weeks. I have 10 out of 61 RSVP's back so far and I haven't gotten any in the mail since last Tuesday!!! I am majorly panicking.

I've fallen off the wagon on my diet/exercise too :( My doctor advised me not to work out for about a week due to some medical issues and I kinda decided to cheat on my diet at the same time. But that was 2 weeks ago--I milked it all last week too and I ate McDonald's fries and snack wraps and egg mcmuffins, two ice cream sundaes, two mochas, pizza, and lots of chips since then. Oh gosh!

It's not a good time for me right now.

@HCritton - stay strong! You will get through this, I promise!!

I fell off the diet bandwagon in April when I got sick and haven't quite jumped back on. But I say oh well. I don't have enough time to stress about it. Just too many other things to think about.

My deadline is today and I only have 30 non-responders left out of 290 so I am in pretty good shape. One of my fears has been relieved because I had invited way too many people outside of our budget. Luckily with God's help, the final count will be exactly where it should have been which saves us a lot of money and now we may not even need help from my FI's mom.

We all have our own stresses but it feels so good to be only 40 days away!! =)

Holy 40 days! Had my last (hopefully last) dress fitting on Sunday, so I get to pick it up on August 7th.  We are still waiting on about 30 RSVP's, but they've still got two weeks, so I'm not too worried.  Projects for this week are to finish the display for the placecards, get the vows approved by the officiant, and make sure the DJ has copies of all of the slightly off-beat songs we requested.

    I can't believe it's so close!
