So me and my FI had planned our wedding for Friday, November 5, 2010. We choose a Friday because we wanted to save some cash. We had thought about a Sunday but guest had to go to work the next day. I just realized that Labor day falls on September 6 for 2010. That Sunday before Labor day would be great for our wedding.

THE BEST PART OF IT is....

Our boyfriend/girlfriend anniversary is on September 6!!!

It would be like a fairy tale to dance our last dance at our wedding right on 12am which is the day we became bf/gf.

but one issue is that September5, 2010 would be 2 months sooner than we had planned, do we still have time to plan a nice, simple & decent wedding by that date???

Give me your thought Bee's!!!!  Laughing

its plenty of time - im getting married on Sept 4th 2010 - just keep in mind depending where you are planning on getting hitched, you want to nail down the big things like venue and hotels if needed since its a holiday weekend!!!! :)

Sounds like a plan. Plenty of time to prepare. Enjoy and I love the dance at midnight.

We're getting married the Friday before- Sep. 03! You totally have time to get everything done by September, rather then November! :)

We may be that weekend as well and I'm not sweating it.

    You can do it.

Heck if Chloe Kardashian can plan a wedding in a week and let her mom do it, think what you can accomplish with all of us in your corner!

You have tons of time, don't worry! Not to be a downer, but I hope you took into account that having a Sunday wedding on a holiday weekend is probably not going to be any cheaper than a Saturday on a regular weekend. And what others said is right, things will book up FAST on a holiday weekend, so go ahead and call the hotels and other vendors! Your wedding will be great, and that's so sweet you're having it on your dating anniversary. Have fun.

We're getting married that Sunday! We did get a Sunday discount on our venue/caterer and DJ despite the holiday weekend. I think you have plenty of time. We just set the date a month or so ago, and we have most of the big elements planned!

Wow I'm real glad to hear all your answers Bee's, My fiance and I just decided we're going to have our reception in my parents backyard. They have a beautiful backyard and also pretty spacious. We can definetly fit 200 guest, so we won't have to worry about the venue booking and it'll help us save lots of money.

    Thanks Bee's your great!

and bellenga I LOVE your comment!!!!!

@ GirlWithARing we're date twins! We did the same thing too. Our venue is a hotel that's mostly in a business district so they were happy to get the business on a holiday weekend.

@SandA - you totally have plenty time! Welcome to the club.:)  I will however, say that other than the venue, the photographer might be the anpther thing you look into first. The 3 photogs I wanted most were already booked for our date & that was when I called back in April!

We got married on the Sunday before Labor Day. It worked out really well for us. You have plenty of time to plan so I don't think moving it up a couple months would hurt.

    Happy planning!

Well my only 2 worries were the venue and the church we're getting married in but since we just decided we're going to have a backyard wedding then now I only got the church to book. My dad is actually a professional wedding photographer and videographer so that's also one thing less to worry about.

    Thanks for the tips Bee's
