Lace covered mason jars, yay or nay?

I think it depends on the type and size of lace.

I can imagine it with just a small more ribbon like lace that only covers the very top of the jar…

I cannot imagine it with lace all around (because then you’d sorta hide the interior jar in my opinion).

@MiraJo:  How about something like this? Or just a 3″ band of lace in the middle of the jar?

I love the look, and I think the only people who will think it’s “overdone” will be women who watch wedding blogs all the time.  Everyone else will just think “oooh pretty!”

Maybe tie a lace bow on the neck of the jar? Add a little charm or something if necessary?

I think just a simple lace bow could be nice, even with the writing.  Something like this?

My Mom & aunt spent so much time decorating mine in lace & I’m pretty sure no one noticed once the flowers were in them.  Here’s the only picture I could find, just to show you.  Just wanted to add it incase it helps to see that the flowers pull focus.  Sorry, No pro pics yet 🙁

@lolot:  I’m not sure that’s true. Weddingbee is the only wedding-related thing I read and I feel that mason jars are incredibly overdone. I’ve seen them at every single wedding I have attended in the last five years.

@MiraJo:  OP, do what you like. I’m sure your arrangements will look very pretty, but if you’re looking for originality you’re not going to find it with lace and mason jars. They are just as common at weddings as a chicken dinner nowadays. They’ve been done in every conceivable way there’s no way to make them original any more.
