Mine has neither! Well… there’s a little bit of bling. Every 3rd button down the back is made of little crystal beads.

Overall, it’s very simple.

I originally wanted a lace dress too.

One thing I was sure of when I was looking at dresses was that I didn’t want bling or sparkle.  I ended up with a dress with none of that, but it isn’t lace.

Mine has neither…my FI hates lace (says it looks like doilies Undecided which I totally disagree with!) and I didn’t want anything too heavy with lots of beading. So I’m a plain Jane, I guess!

@hilsy – I was going to say the exact same thing! My husband hated lace – I don’t know why – and I am really not a beads or bling person – so I had neither. Just satin. I do sometimes wonder if it’s too plain, especially after I look at all the gorgeous Weddingbee pictures of other dresses. But I think in the end, it reflected us and our taste, and I will always love that.

@redcactus: I saw your dress after you posted your professional pics, and you definitely made the right choice–you looked amazing! But I agree, I see other dresses that are a bit more elaborate or ornate than mine and I do catch myself getting a little wistful. But oh well, too late now! 🙂

Mostly lace, with a bling-y belt and some beading

Mine has both! I knew I wanted lace and I ended up wanting more beading so that my dress would glimmer.

@hilsy – Thanks!! I am glad you like it. I STILL do wonder sometimes haha, and it’s definitely too late for me. I think I can always appreciate other dresses as a work of art, though I prefer something simpler on me.

How did your epics go? I know you were having questions about photos, so I am crossing my fingers that they turned out well for you! I am sure you will look beautiful!

I’m not crazy about “blingy” dresses.  All that silver beading is just waaay too much.  It looks great on many brides, but it would look ridiculous on me.  my dress is all over lace, but there is also clear beading throughout the whole thing so it sparkles in pretty but not overly blingy way.  So you can have sparkle and lace without “bling”, you just have to find the right kind.

Both are beautiful!  You can’t go wrong with either one.  Lace looks more romantic, though…

Mine is more blingy.  I had narrowed it down to a very simple satin dress with a bling belt, but my mom hated it.  She said it was too simple, so I opted for the bling…

mine’s got bling on top which fades out to the bottom, but the beading has sort of a lace pattern. i wasn’t all that into lace, personally. i had a difficult time picking a veil that wouldn’c clash or hide the beading on the back though.
