Ok ladies I had already made one veil. But it wasnt really what I was looking for so I am trying one last time before I say "screw it" and buy one. Now I will be making a mantilla, so the pattern is more or less a circle, my problem is how do you get straight lace to sew onto a curved surface? Any tips for me?

If it's not already curved you'll have to do folds...like miniature pleats. And it won't lie flat. Some lace is sold with a degree of radius though.

Do a basting stitch on your lace. Do several separate lengths. You will need to pull the ends of the thread and move the lace, like if you were doing a gather or a ruffle and then just fasten with pins to the veil part, then sew it on.
