Is it true that lace looks better in ivory? I've always pictured myself wearing a white gown but the dress that I'm for sure getting is lace. The lady at the shop said lace looks better in ivory. What do you girls think?

it completely and totally depends on the lace. some is meant to be snow-white; some ("blond" lace, old lace, specific kinds) are and should be ivory, ecru, etc. 

was the saleslady talking about a particular dress, with a particular fabric? that might make sense....

but if you love white lace, why not get a white lace dress?

I've heard the same thing which is why I ordered my lace gown in ivory. You might want to hold up a lace gown that is pure white next to an ivory lace one and see which you prefer. I think that it depends on the lace, but as a general rule, I would go with the ivory. It looks richer and the pure white may make it look cheap, again, depending on the fabric.

I was also told by my photographer that the lace details get lost if you are wearing a pure white lace gown. Whichever you decide on, I'm sure that it will be beautiful!
