Sorry that you had a run in with her. I would just figure in the extra guests and know that you are going to pay the difference. Also, no need in worrying with the final guest list just yet. You have sometime to make a decision on the list.

Not that I need to be motivated... my wedding's in June 2011... but FMIL really brought me down last night... Apparently, future hubby and I NEED to cut guests out of our wedding because we "can't afford it..." and "I don't understand how much stuff costs..." and yada yada yaaa
*sigh* we've been carefully budgeting everything, and we would rather cut out "extra junk" like pretty white chairs than to cut out our wedding guests. It really upset me... :(
Anyone else have this convo with their FMIL??? Future husband told me I should've just told her to shut up... but I just sat there and let her talk down to me like I'm some naive little girl without and concept of costs of planning...
I used to be an event planner for frick's sake. I had a board of directors review all my budget info... all my events went off without a hitch too... so I have a lot of confidence in myself... too bad she doesn't.
