Ladies, beware!! I’ve encountered two scam artists since listing my 2 wedding dresses for sale on this site 2 weeks ago. One is named Michelle Brooks who allegedly lives in New Hampshire and likes to send fraudulent checks from a company in California over the amount you are asking for the dress and she wants you to wire the remaining balance to her doctor’s bank because she and her daughter got into a terrible car accident and her father died all in the same day! Yet she does not provide you with a physical address to mail the dress to nor a cell phone number to contact her. I reported her to the New Hampshire police department this morning after Wells Fargo (the bank where the fraudulent check came from) verified it was a fake!
The second person is named Rebecca Johnson. She claims to be out to sea so she can’t provide you with an address or cell phone number but she also sends you over the amount you are asking for your dress allegedly through Paypal, however, she also wants you to wire the remaining funds to her shipper in Indiana so they can come to your house to pick up the dress at a later date. Yet, the funds were never deposited into my account and Paypal verified the “fake” email I received from them confirming the transaction was in fact not from them at all! I reported Rebecca to PayPal for fraud.
Thank goodness I was cautious and investigated both of these people before I sent any money to either of them.
So ladies, please beware of these two people before you get scammed!!
