Here are my responses:
What are the top 5 baby gear things do you already have or know for sure you want?
What colors/themes are you using in the nursery?
Here are the colors I am thinking of going with along with white furniture.

Gear, hmmm. Well, we're having a boy (yay!) but we bought a few things a while back before we knew for sure:
Graco Snugride 35 car seat - it's been living in the car, but not installed, just in the trunk.
Crib - just came in and we picked it up Thursday, it's also living in the trunk of the car. In our defense, the nursery is still full of the stuff it held when it was a guest room/ office/ storage area, so stuff can't go in there just yet.
Glider - we bought it via Craigslist (which I LOVE) but I need to recover it, no idea what I'll decide on.
Cloth diapers - I bought half a dozen Grovia hybrids and thought I bought 8 gently used BumGenius AIO's for a great price, but then I got screwed when the lady only shipped two of the eight and then claimed she wasn't responsible. Argh. I filed a dispute with Paypal but it takes a while, so I'm grumpy.
I ran out of steam before I decided on a baby monitor, crib mattress, or, well, anything else. :) Our friends just had a baby 6 weeks ago and love their Rock N Play to death, so we are likely to get one of those.
Colors - green like grass, blue like sky, yellow like sunshine and anything bright like flowers! (This may remind some of the folks who have been around and bothered to read my wedding posts of my last-minute desperate wedding theme.) I think I'll paint the nursery a dark gray/taupe color because it's kind of like a treehouse, plus the dark neutral will balance the crazy bright colors we tend to love.

These are all on my registry, so just hoping I get them!
1.Angelcare Movement Sensor with Sound Monitor and 2 Units
2. Fisher Price Soothe N Play Bouncer - Woodland Animals
3. The Original Baby Banana Toothbrush
4. The First Years Everywhere Gate
5. Fisher price Deluxe Musical Mobile Gym
What colors/themes are you using in the nursery?
I'd like to use a Woodland Animal theme I saw in Target.
What are the top 5 baby gear things do you already have or know for sure you want?
1. A Boppy pillow
2. A nice glider recliner (we ordered this already)
3. Fisher-Price Newborn Rock & Play Sleeper
4. BabyBjorn Baby Carrier
5. Not sure...I'll think of something!!
What colors/themes are you using in the nursery?
Blue & brown & trees!
Aw, I want to play even though I haven't found out the sex yet.
What are the top 5 baby gear things do you already have or know for sure you want?
We decided on the Davinci convertible cribs, and we like the Emily, plus the dresser, and changing tables too.
I want one of those spinning toys where they sit on it and turn the wheel to spin. My baby will have that. :)
Lol, that's all we've really decided until we go to the doctor's again.
What colors/themes are you using in the nursery?
The nursery is blue, like a sky blue and the woods are a light colored oak. I already painted it that way, and I really don't feel like painting it again. I think it will be a Twins (baseball) theme if its a boy, and just a blue room if its a girl. I haven't decided on the curtain color yet.
What are the top 5 baby gear things do you already have or know for sure you want?
We havent gotten all of these things yet, some are on our registry :)
What colors/themes are you using in the nursery?

What are the top 5 baby gear things do you already have or know for sure you want?
All is on our registry unles otherwise noted
What colors/themes are you using in the nursery?
We arent doing a "baby-ish" nursery. Its going to be elegant and preppy. Pink and navy blue, some damask patterns, and a vnyl wall decal of 6 huge floor to ceiling birch trees behind the crib. Glider will be a neutral light tan burlap with some throw pillows, etc.
I'm not pregnant yet but...
#1 sounds like the coolest EVER! I feel like my husband would get a total kick out of it. Can you provide a link??? K thanks.

Even though it's going to be hards to take out of the attic, we have all of Moose's stuff, so we have clothes, bouncy seat, swing, play mat, blankets, diaper genie, pack and play, and some other stuff. The other stuff, we're figuring out.
What colors/themes are you using in the nursery?
Seriously, I have no idea, but I've decided I want to make as much as I can.
sure! I cant get too into what he does for a living, but it involves stuff like this. It would be something similar to this camera, hardwired into the nursery and house.
looks like this on a PC https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6jkyYF-79Ys/TW0HZRKEx0I/AAAAAAAAC5w/vyU2jDkjVHw/s1600/Camera+Shot.jpg

What are the top 5 baby gear things do you already have or know for sure you want?
1. We already have a crib, matress, and changing table
2. Rocking chair (I really want one)
3. DH wants the 900 mHz baby monitor because I read somewhere that it can sometimes pick up your neighbor's cell phone conversations. (boys and their toys!)
4. Car seat ( preferably two so we don't have to constantly switch them between our vehicles)
5. Playmat
What colors/themes are you using in the nursery?
We find out next month if we're having a girl or a boy. But so far, the theme for both is safari animals. Colors will be pink, green, and white for a girl and yellow, brown, and tan for a boy.
@KellyV: Aw I love the UB Vista Yellow! Can I ask where you got it from? I am looking to hopefully get a good deal online (maybe around $550?)
What are the top 5 baby gear things do you already have or know for sure you want?
1. Cloth diapers. We're going with Bum Genious all in one, one size fits all. I'm terrified nobody will buy them for the shower, b/c we obviously really need them!
2. Graco Pack N Play. I have a feeling we'll be using it a lot, we already have a trip planned for when the baby is about 3 months old.
3. Crib. It will be a gift from my grandma.
4. Glider.
5. Changing table. I'm just excited about it b/c I found a really cute one!
What colors/themes are you using in the nursery?
There will be lots of pink and pigs.
@SecretName: off of Amazon.com from some boutique. Unfortunately it was full price, but a very generous gift to us. Some suggestions though. Try ebay, or try Craigslist. If there is nothing in your area, search cities like NYC (there are a TON of them here on the streets. Never checked for used ones but maybe theyre on there) or Chicago, etc, and contact the seller but offer to pay shipping and transact via paypal. Maybe someone will go for that =o)
@SecretName: It's a toothbrush that bends and is supposed to be safe for kids. I found it on Target's website.
So, today we went and bought a new fan for the nursery! We got most of the junk cleaned out (the office stuff is now in the guest room).
I think we are ready to start thinking about painting, but I am so nervous and can't decide on colors. I LOVE the teal color we posted above, but the room is only like 11x11 with two smaller windows. I don't think painting an accent color would work for this room because of the shape. Also, the rest of our house is not modern/bold in terms of colors so I don't want it to be an odd color. Any suggestions? Should I play it safe and paint the walls the lighter sage green color?
@SecretName: I think it would be okay to go ahead and paint the room the teal if you really like that color. Our nursery is pretty small too and only has one window but is painted a dark/bold blue color and doesn't feel like a cave at all. We accented throughout the room with bright, light colors which seems to help a lot.
So I wanted to update that we bought a crib which is green. We also registered, even though I said I wasn't going to, because some ladies from bowling requested that I do it. Also, we had a surprise baby shower when we visited his family several hours away. Now, we have lots of baby stuff just waiting for a Wombat. It's really exciting, but we both told Wombat that Wombat has to make it because we have even more stuff laying around waiting.
@TheFutureMcBride: I love your green crib! I cant wait to see pics of it with a Wombat in it!
@TheFutureMcBride: I would love to see pictures! I'm sure Wombat will love the green crib!
So last week I went ahead and purchased the curtains that go with our scheme above. They look good and I think will "pop" even more once we paint. The trim at the top of the curtain is this really cute green with white polka dots, I love it!
It is just so crazy how expensive baby stuff is. The 2 curtains, a sheet, and a small pillow cost me $80! We still have to buy paint and molding for the room too plus the new furniture (crib, mattress and dresser).
What are the top 5 baby gear things do you already have or know for sure you want?
We're not having a shower, so I've been thinking and rethinking every decision, but this is the top 5 for now.
1- Carseat- I just ordered one! yay!
2- Crib- still deciding which one
3- Cloth diapers- prefolds as a newborn, then hopefully BG one size, depending on budget
4- Boppy
5- Aden + Anais swaddle blankets
What colors/themes are you using in the nursery?
Blues and greens, similar to SecretName
we live in a 1 bedroom in the city so things will have to be very simple
crib/bassinet
stroller
my old rocking chair given to me by my former chairman as a gift I stored at my brother's
the rest are smaller accoutrements that come along with a little one, diapers, clothes, bottles, baby blanket/bag
and thats it
havent decided on colors, dont want to know the sex of the baby til he/she is born
Just thought I would share my latest update.
This week my mom and her best friend went in together and got us the stroller/car seat as an early shower gift!
I really wanted the Uppababy Vista, but the money just wasn't there. My mom was trying to push a traditional travel system from BabysRus (the only baby store near her or I). The one that I liked best was the Chicco Cortina system which runs about $300. Luckily she decided to spend the extra $100 and get the Britax B-Ready (this seat reverses unlike the Chicco) stroller and Chaperone car seat with the deal they are running now. I still haven't seen this system in person but I can always return and exchange if I really don't like it. I think it will fit my needs though.
I am so excited, the stroller should be here this weekend, and the car seat in a month or so. We ended up going with the silver color.

I'm due in July, but my shower is next week so I am obsessing over baby gear (and stalking my registry)..
Top 5 baby gear things do you already have or know for sure you want?

Hi Ladies!
I thought I would start a new thread topic for us! Now that many of us are well into our second trimester and have found out the sex of our little ones (it looks like we are evenly split, 50/50 boys/girls!), I thought it would be fun to start a thread about baby gear and nursery themes!
Here are a few ideas/suggestions to share:
What are the top 5 baby gear things do you already have or know for sure you want?
What colors/themes are you using in the nursery?
