I LOVE my dress! I had my dress fitting this weekend and started to become paranoid that my dress is way too fancy for the beach. I always dreamed of a princess dress but the wedding is on the beach and the reception is at a victorian house in the back yard. Please give me your honest opinions. I am considering starting over again! Am I just having a freak out moment? I posted pictures of my dress, our reception house and the beach ceremony site with our exact arbor (with blush pink peonies and soft mint green leaves). Thanks ladies!!!

@sara5ann: The bride is never overdressed.Look at the bride in your pic. She has a jewelled or glitter bodice on her dress.

@sara5ann: Honestly, it might be a little tricky to walk on the sand and not get it all sandy/dirty, but if you don’t care, then it doesn’t matter! I think it will be fine. I had a very long lace train for my outdoor garden/courtyard wedding. It even rained so the bottom of my dress got very muddy, but I didn’t care…I was having way too much fun 🙂

Nope- you are the bride! You can never be overdressed! And that dress is gorgeous

My thought is along the lines of bmo88 thinking of the sand and it getting trapped in your dress and it being a little weighty to walk in BUT I think its a lovely dress and as julies1949 – “The bride is never overdressed!”

@sara5ann: Nope you are the brie and you can wear whatever you want!! You might get mixed opinions on this and some may say yes…..I was a formal beach bride myself and wore what I fell in love with!
Here was my dress……again not your so called typical beachy dress

I think there is a definite casual dress thought for beach dresses – shorter or more column like — However, I think that your dress is perfect. If you want princess go for it – my wedding is a casual feel and I have every intention of finding a fancy and fun princess dress 🙂

No no no! Your dress is JUST FINE!!!
Don’t get freaked out wondering if what you’re doing is acceptable – do you like it? GREAT, it’s your wedding and that’s the only reason you need!!!
BTW – are you going to do the pink petticoat?
It will be SO CUTE on the beach!!!

Wear the dress you want. A bridal gown is meant to be dressy.

Your dress is stunning! You will look so beautiful and elegant.
Unless you tried to wear a Lady Diana-style, cathedral-length train on the beach, no one is going to think that you’re over-dressed for your wedding. 🙂

@sara5ann: I think it’s gorgeous and will look lovely! The bride gets to wear whatever she likes on her big day:)

- Wedding: October 2013 - Dalhousie Castle
I love your dress. The skirt looks like all the layers and folds will catch the light in the sun and look fab! Also it looks like a fun dress as well as being special and formal. Perfect for a wedding on the beach.

That tulle ballgown is going to look STUNNING on the beach!

Your dress is beautiful! My sister got married on a beach and her dress was poufy/silk/embellished and it looked perfect! Honestly she tried on the “beach” dresses and they were just too boring! No bride wants to be boring!
You will look amazing in that dress on the beach, promise! 🙂

The bride can’t really be overdressed in my opinion! And the ruffles look great for a beach.
