So I have fabulous heels for the wedding that I love. They are 3 1/2 inches which is around what I normally wear. I’m currently working on breaking them in. However, I’m scared that it’ll be a long day and my feet will start to really hurt and I’ll want to change shoes during the reception. problem is, the dress will be hemmed to that specific hight. So what do I do? Do I get fancy wedges? (I’m totally opposed to those thic platform flip flops).
So ladies with heels, what is your contingency shoe plan?

I am wearing heels and I plan to wear mine the entire time. I don’t have a contingency plan.

My dress will be hemmed for four inch heels, so my “plan” is that I hope to be so excited and hopped up on adrenaline that I won’t notice if my feet hurt! If they do, I hope that it will be towards the end of the night and I can then turn towards alcohol to take the pain the away 🙂
Not sure if this is the best plan… would love to hear what others are doing!

I also wore 3 1/2 inches, but went for comfort before beauty. I ordered four different pairs in the mail, then took practice walks around the house with each of them and kept the most comfortable and sturdy ones. Those shoes lasted me all night through the disco, twist, choreographed foxtrot, Turkish hora and whatever other crazy moves we may have done for over four hours. I only felt that my feet were temporarily paralyzed when I took them off in the hotel room.

I ordered a pair of flip flops that have a little height to them to change into if my feet get sore. They’re called Macy by Touch Ups (you can google them). They’re not quite as high as my heels, but they’re better than being flat on the ground.

hellllllllllll yes. 🙂 I hate heels. But they’re so pretty. I’m wearing 4 inch heels for photos and the ceremony, and then I’ll be switching into some lovely gold glittery platform flip flops to dance the night away!

I ordered a pair of flip flips as a back up plan because I learned via my sister’s wedding my feeties probably won’t last!

I bought 4 inch heels and have a pair of back up platform wedges (and also the dreaded platform flip flops not sure whic one I will wear). I plan on hemming the dress to just perfect with the 4 inchers. Then if I need to switch my dress will be a little long but I don’t care if it drags it is going to get dirty anyways (hopefully i don’t trip haha).
I might also have the bustle shorter so I can changes shoes when I bustle it.

I have 3 1/2 inch heels and I plan on wearing them all night. I have several pairs of the same brand, and I have never had a problem with wearing them all day so I am not worried about it. I also have a short reception dress so I might buy a cute pair of flip flops or flat shoes to wear just in case. A girl can always us a new pair shoes.

I totally caved and bought a pair of those thick platform flip flops. I agree that they’re not very attractive, but I’ll be wearing 4 inch heels for most of the day, and I figure at that point in the night, most pictures of my feet will have been taken, and I’ll really appreciate the comfort. They’re only like 1.5 inches high, but they’ll help keep my dress from dragging as much as it would with most flats.
The only reason I may go with cuter backup shoes is if I decide to change into a reception dress.
Good luck deciding!

I’m wearing 4 inch heel (with a 1/2 inch hidden platform) and I have no intention of changing. If I can walk a trade show floor in them, I can rock them on my wedding. At least that’s what I’m hoping

Heels for pictures, ceremony, and reception. Flip flops for the dance.

I’m wearing platform flip flops for the reception. Honestly, the dress is going to be a couple inches too long, so no one will see them. And they’re actually cute in the front. But really, as much as I want to wear stylish and fancy shoes all night long, I don’t want to be hobbling around the reception, or taking breaks from dancing because my feet hurt. I want to be free to do whatever I want! So I’m going to wear my gorgeous 4-inch heels for pictures and for the ceremony. And then I’ll switch them out for the flip flops and never look back.

HELL yes!! LOL…I love love heels but they hate me! I will be changing to flippity flops during the ceremony

I bought a pair of platform flip flops, but never ended up wearing them. I was so hyped on adrenaline that it didn’t hit me until right before bed that my feet kinda hurt. I wore my 4″ heels for almost 12 hours that day.
