After a long and painful process with Kays, my setting is no more. There is nothing thwy can do to repair it, and resetting it is now my only option. The only problem is that thwy want to charge me $500 for a plain white gold v prong setting, AND another $480 to reset my stone into that setting!!! No way. Not gonna happen. I found a local jeweler that can reset the ring for $125, if I already have the setting. So, can you help me find a 14k white gold solitaire setting with v prongs for a .5 ct princess cut diamond?? Links, pictures, and experiences with ordering would be wonderful!! Thank you!

Try Blue Nile Im sure that I saw on their website that they will now sell the setting separately. They let me buy a setting with no diamond so that I could look at it before deciding. And their prices are good too

James Allen will also sell the setting to you. A six prong white gold setting is $180.00.

I don’t know about all jewelers but my designer had a book whose name I can’t remember now. He said everyone uses the same book. Its simply a book full of ring settings. The designer only has to find out from the customer what they want the setting made of. Its a very straight forward process. Maybe if you ask he can bring the book out? the company has a web site also. I can’t remember the name though sorry.
