needing some inspiration on table centrpieces after deciding to so them myself thanx bees
This is my ROUGH draft. It is a bowl glued to a candle stick also and I just love it. I couldn't find something that I liked so I made my own up.
This is also my mock-up. I wanted silk flowers in square glass vases. I decided on silk flowers because I figured a centerpiece this size of real flowers (and of the kinds of flowers I wanted) would cost twice as much.
I'm planning for us to have long, rectangular tables at the reception, so I'll have these floral centerpieces; I'd like to have them on turquoise pintuck satin table runners, with orange and turquoise votive candleholders scattered on the tables:

flowers from farmers market, mason jars from my gram's barn, and we bought some ribbon to add a little something extra to them
I bought different vases at thrift stores (wouldn't go higher than $2 each) and bought flowers wholesale. It was very easy, just cut them and plop them in the vase.
This is also a rough draft :). I'm going to use teal glitter to put the table numbers on the candles instead of the raffia ribbon. The block lights up, but it doesn't photograph well when it is, so it's not on in the photo. I'm considering putting it on either gold fabric or a mirror.
The 'mock' picture is what we did for the guest tables, with real roses and blue delphinium. It's a little off though. You have to imagine that id there were the orange roses inside there were blue candles, and with the blue flowers there were orange candles.
There is supposed to be a candle in the center, but for some reason it didn't make it into this picture.
The actual wedding picture is the centerpiece that was on our table.
they are all beautiful, thank you so much for sharing i've definately got some inspriation now! thank you so much
Mine are a work in progress, I actually just did this yesterday. I decided to use rose petals, vintage birdcages and candles. In this pic I just used whatever candles I had on hand and some dried rose petals my mom had handy.

It turns out I will not be able to use both birdcages on each table because of the space they take up, I will have to split them up. For the bigger birdcage, I will use two different size candles (this pic shows 2 of the same size), and then use real rose petals sprinkled aorund it.
I sitll need to come up with a slightly different idea for the smaller birdcage, where I'm thinking of using candles to put on either side of it and fill a bowl with floating rose petals to put inside the bird cage.
Any ideas/suggestions are welcome =)
P.S the birdcages are from saveoncrafts.com
my mom made this! The real versions will have real sunflowers and the blue in the vase will be stones or seaglass (right now its just paper to give you the effect).

sorry, i cant get the pic to be any smaller!
@bride2bejc:I love the birdcage idea. The look of it is great. Thanks for the link, I might have to borrow the idea. :)
I've shared mine before, but I loved them! We had a wine/vineyard theme going, hence the corks, but they could easily be swapped for any other small items as a filler around the candle...
@bridewithbabies: do you have any information to share re your colors, theme etc.? it would be easier to make a suggestion with some information.
Here are ours. Not super-fancy, but they worked. We made paper mum wreaths (modeled after the ones at the Paper Source) and had mason jars with copper engraved tags as candle holders. Tons of DIY, but luckily Mom and MOH cut out all of the leaves and flowers:

I took a candle stick and a plate and glued them together, both from the .99 cent store. Then I glued some crystal strands to the sides of the plate. I also got the mirrors from the .99 cent store. Each centerpiece cost me just under $5. I love they way they turned out!
Here's mine. The one with the wine bottle was on the head table (yes, my handwriting isn't great and my V looks like an R. My little sister pointed it out to me multiple times already!). They were vintage handkerchiefs, mason jars with ribbons and flowers from my mom's garden, and glass punch cups with tea lights in them. The tea lights looked really pretty when they were lit up, unfortunately, it was very breezy that day so they didn't stay lit at all!
The second one is just of one of the jars, but you can see it a little better.
@Baileyh: I LOVE LOVE LOVE your centerpieces! It is exactly what I had invisioned for mine.
Here’s ours – we used hydrangeas from my parent’s garden, and small roses ordered from 50flowers.com. The vases are square glass vases, with the flower stems in florist foam, and then filled with seashells (got a huge bag of shells for $10 from the Christmas Tree Shop).
The smaller square glass candles were 3x3 glass vases, filled with seaglass (on clearance at Michaels), tiny seashells and an unscented votive candle.
The shall candles I made – just sorted out large shells that sat flat from my “big bag of shells” (lol), and then filled with candle wax and a wick.

Thanks!!! they were SUPER easy to do and cost about 4.00 each to make!!
this is a mock up of mine. I will be starting this scary project mid-November
Here are our centerpieces. The candles will be the same size and they won't be red, but that all we had around the house. The jar will also be filled with oil and a picture of FI and I.

Here's one of our centerpieces I made using crepe paper roses.
Here is a pic of my FIY centerpeice from my wedding. I like really simple centerpeices and was happy with the way they turned out :)
Here's mine. Some tables had white votives, and some had purple. I preferred the purple but this pic shows the white.

@daniellerenee85: did you make those roses? They are so pretty! If you did make them, do you have a tutorial you could share? :)
@Baileyh: Love it! so simple and beautiufl... I am doing something similar but I am hanging small lanterns that hold votive candles and having more branches --- did you buy your branches or did you go out into the woods and track them down?

We just went with a whole bunch of candy dishes and vases. We filled them up with the rocks (?) and water, then added floating candles. = )
Cheap and easy. lol.
@stephiemarie: Where did you get the wood your floating candles are sitting on? That's the exact look I am going for an fear i may end up wandering through the woods and picking up fallen branches to make it happen.
