I haven’t got my band yet but my ER is a cushion cut w halo and diamond band and i’ll have an eternity style diamond wedding band (lots of bling! yay!) I actually like the look of the gap too! Our jeweller suggested having them attached underneath with a gap to ensure they don’t rub and cause damage.

Personally I don’t like wedding bands that curve around the centre stone of the engagement ring (not to say there aren’t some absolutely gorgeous designs like that out there! It’s just not a style I would go for, for myself) So mine will definitely be straight 🙂

The size of my gap varies. The rings can move closer together, but sometimes they just lay farther apart.

@Miss_E_xx:  Please post of pic of your E-ring and wedding band when you can! I have a halo cushion E-ring with pave diamonds on the band. I’m thinking about getting an eternity band with bigger diamonds (bigger than the pave in the ering band) and would love to see what it looks like 🙂

This is what my rings look like with the gap (the way I wanted them to be).

This is what my rings look like right now. They soldered them without the gap (and cut a chunk out of the basket my center stone sits in in the process). They are making me a new set as we speak.

@foz:  Lovely! Yea my wedding band will be bigger than the band on my engagement ring too, I love that look! My ER band is 1.7mm and i’m thinking up to 3mm for the wedding band – I won’t have my band for a while though as I want to lose a bit of weight before the wedding so will get it made as late as possible!

@musician32992:  Yea I thought it was a good idea too! I will definitely wear both of mine together on the same finger (sparkle, sparkle!) and I figure it’s probably a bit safer having them joined too – less likely to lose one, I hope!

Here is my ER – this is actually the first time i’ve posted a pic of it! It’s exactly what I always dreamed of, my FI did a spectacular job!

I love gaps!  It is like finger cleavage.  😉

s2bmrscook:  omg why would they do that? Who damages a ring in purpose first of all? I was wondering by fixing do you mean putting the Chuck back in (I hope not as it may be weak now and rebreak under normal stress) or completely replace it back to how it was as a solid structure? I’m so sorry that’s devastating!
