I didn't get down on one knee. We were watching tv and I asked him. lol! I gave him a ring (I also bought my own ring as he said if the girl proposes, she should buy her own ring...which was fine with me). Good luck!
Omg, I've been waiting for a post like this! I did not get down on one knee... it was very spur-of-the-moment. We were hanging out with my family and I just realized I wanted to spend my life with him, so I asked and he said yes. Since I was a tiny bit inebriated that night, in the morning I asked again just to be sure and he said yes again. It was very much "us" - down to earth, laid back and without many frills. I'd never take it back :)
My fiancé doesn't wear jewelry, so I didn't give him anything. Since he was dirt poor at the time and I had a job, I ended up buying my ring lol.
A long time ago, he gave me blank dog tags... I'm thinking of having them engraved with something so he can hang them on his rearview mirror.
I plan to take him to where he first told me he loved me to do this. I don't think I will be getting down on one knee... but I do think I will be doing a small speech LOL
God I am so nervous. Will do it on Leap Year Day.
That's a great way and unique. I was going to propose to my SO, but he kind of blew that.lol He said we were unoffically engaged. I don't have a ring, but had gotten him one.lol So now he wears it all the time. I think it's cute and yet melts my heart. :) Keep us posted. :)
Everyone has heard this story a million times...
I lived in a major city in WI for about 4 months with a sorority sister of mine. We decided to get a bunch of our friends in town (including my boyfriend at the time). We went to this hole in the wall bar on the main strip and were drinking our livers black[ish] lol. Then my roommate goes, to me, you 2 (meaning bf and I) should just get married. So I turn to Mr.TKE and go, Mr.TKE, will you marry me? He said, no drunken proposals. So this continued for about 5-10 minutes. Then he finally, says "oh, I suppose".
The next day we talked about it and decided to make it 'official'. So there you have it, that's how we got engaged :)
