I bought my dress from a consignment shop literally 5 minutes from my house. No one knows about it and there aren’t a lot of bridal shops in the area. Literally one shop and Davids.

They call it a bridal outlet, so I would search google for outlets or consignment shops. I found there are more of those in my area than regular dress shops!

I bought a $1200 dress for $400!

I got mine on eBay for $75! I just searched very patiently through used wedding dresses, there’s a lot of junk but plenty of gems if you look long enough!

I got mine on Kijiji (a Canadian site like Craigslist). Maggie Sottero ‘Isadora’ for $900 with no alerations needed, bustle done, lace bolero with it… the seller paid over $2,300 for it (plus size, alerations, cleaning, etc.).

I got my dancing dress on Etsy, then shortened it, and added a big crinoline! It was under $100–it was someone’s Debaunte Ball gown!

I got my dress on Ebay for $150. It is a Marisa 648, a sample in great condition. The dress retailed close to $2000 so I am a happy camper. My advice is to be patient and search Ebay, preowned dress websites (I like preownedweddingdresses.com), and bridal consignment stores (I know a great one in CT if you are nearby). Church Street Bridal will ship anywhere in the U.S. And don’t be afraid to try dresses on at boutiques. I tried on a million dresses, which helped me discover what shapes flatter me and also what the qualities of different brands is like. Because I became so familiar with various lines, I felt more confident buying online.

I found mine, by a stroke of luck, at a flea market. I paid $200, and I absolutely loved it.

After the ceremony and main reception I changed into a short, lace dress made by my Mom. I wasn’t looking for a thrift dress but it was fate, I like to think, that brought us together.

@secretwife:  I got mine at Last Minute Bride on facebook.  It was a $1700 Pronovias dress, brand new with tags.  I paid $939, and was able to make payments on it.  Here is what it looks like.

It is absolutely beautiful.  Jennifer was absolutley wonderful to work with.  She continually updates with more dresses and reduced prices, all of them designer gowns.  Here is the link to her facebook page if you are interested.

Pre-owned Anjolique dress on Kijiji, worth over 1K, paid 200$ for it.

I wasn’t looking for a particular designer though. I liked trumpet silhouettes and I was hoping not to spend over 400$. I’ve also tried on 2 other dresses for sale, they were incredibly beautiful as well, but this one was cheaper and looked better on me and had almost no adjustment to be done (I might not make any, it’s a bit loose at the hip but it’s partly lace up and I’ll add a petticoat).

It’s totally worth searching over pre-owned websites or outlet sales !

I’m trying to find one used/kijiji/consignment, but it doesn’t help I love so many of the new ones from Maggie Sottero!
