There is a great post by a fellow bee on boudoir tips here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/photo-tips-from-a-pin-up-model#axzz2dC2UEB6X

I think it’s normal to worry about how you’re going to look, but I’m sure you’ll be very pleasantly surprised as long as you have a good photographer you’re comfortable with.  I scheduled my hair trial the same day as my boudoir shoot, then did my own make-up.

My girlfriends did my hair and makeup (Excuse the screenshot.  It’s the only pic I have on this computer and it’s from my “preview”).  We did my makeup a little more dramatic and used eyelash extensions, then just curled my hair a little.  Trust me, I was SO nervous about doing my shoot.  My friend that was shooting it suggested poses that would be most flattering.  Once I got in to it I felt so much more comfortable and just had fun with it!  (plus, a few glasses of wine to loosen up helped as well)

I had mine done by a pro, it was a Groupon deal actually! I did it with another girlfriend, which made it much more fun! They went a little more pin up then boudoir but he LOVED them!

ETA – A good photographer will make you feel comfortable. They first few shots are a little awkward but that passes. I was a 14/16 when I had mine done, so I totally understand the feeling. Try a glass of wine before you go? Honestly though, you’ll be fine – just think about your man!

The photogs goal is to make you happy and look good so they’ll be shooting from all angles to try an get you the most flattering shots. If there is a certain area you are super concerned about, let them know.. they’re working for you

Relax and have fun!

@Future_Mrs_Naugle:  Aw, thanks so much!  I was self conscious, and still am.  I was convinced there was no way my pictures were going to look good.  Honestly, I have yet to see a set of professional boudoir photos that I didn’t think were absolutely stunning.  I’m sure you will look gorgeous!!  Like I said before, just have fun with it!!

I did my own hair and makeup! I am horrible with hair, so I just Googled “how to do Victoria’s Secret angel hair” and then tried to replicate that. For my makeup, I wore false eyelashes and just did a TON of smoky eye makeup–like, really super smudgy and smoky. I also wore more than usual blush, which is barely visible, and did a medium lip color. I also smudged my lipstick around the outside of my lips a bit, which looked odd in person, but turned out well in the pictures. Basically, I looked a little like a hooker in real life, but pretty and soft in the pictures!

Also, I agree with the PPs that your photographer will suggest poses and help you feel way more comfortable. Also, my photographer told me that if a pose feels awkward, it probably looks good on film, and when I got my pictures back, she was SO right!

@Future_Mrs_Naugle:  Yup they were the Stay up ones with the rubber at the top! If you can wear them for a bit at home to losen the rubber part so it doesnt squeeze quite as tight, that will help or even just carefully stretch the rubbery section while wearing themon that day or a few minutes.
