I haven’t been in a LOOONG time. But from what I do remember, the lake is beautiful. Swimming, boating. There are areas to just stroll around and shop and eat. It’s nice.

I was born in Lake George (well, at the hospital nearby)! But I haven’t lived there since I was little. The lake is beautiful, but the town has gotten touristy. Definitely it’s a great area for outdoor sports. My parents lived there for 20 years and used to spend all their summer time out on their boat. I bet hiking would also be lovely. If you go in winter though it’s going to have a LOT of snow.

I used to go to Lake George all the time growing up!  And two summers ago, I spent a week there with my family.  I love LG!

The biggest question is when you are going, and for how long.  Lake George is a big summer place to be and I would imagine a lot of stuff closes for the winter.

You can definitely go out on the lake in one of the U-Drive boats, there are cruises along the lake (like the Minne Ha-Ha), parasailing, and lots of hiking in the nearby mountains.  There’s also a large amusement park nearby (Great Escape) which is now owned by Six Flags.  There are a couple of water parks as well.

Some people say the village is kind of honky-tonk, but that’s actually why I love it.  There’s mini golf, arcades, haunted houses, ice cream parlors, shopping, etc.

In the summer, the Saratoga Race Track is 15 minutes away.  It’s a great way to spend the day, and also a great town to hang out in, have dinner, etc.

Anyway, I could go on and on, but if you want more specific details, please feel free to PM me.  I could name restaurants, bars, hotels, etc.
