The weather will be beautiful, should be mid to high 70's every day, if not a little hotter. Ummmm, you really don't want to be swimming in the lake that late in the season, though. I have friends who water ski and go out in the boat all the way until late October, but you'll definitely need a wetsuit. You can still hang out on the beach, but I personally wouldn't go in the water in September without a wetsuit.
One good thing about coming to the lake in mid to late September is that you'll miss the big tourist rushes. Labor day weekend is the last big rush of the tourist season (until ski season starts), so you would have a lot of peace and quiet in September. Plus, rooms and restaurants will be a little cheaper since it's technically "out of season."
There's lots of other things to do here besides watersports. Do you and your Fi know which area (north shore, south shore, or west shore) you'd like to visit yet? You'll get more specific recommendations if you say where you'd like to go. :)

So mu Fi has decide we can't afford togo to Oktoberfest in Germany for our honeymoon, which why we picked our date. Now he wants to go to Lake Tahoe.
Any thought bees? How will the weather be in the middle of September. And not to sound dumb, but is the Lake something you would really swim and do water sports in?
