photodee - Congratulations on your engagement.
Lake Tahoe has awesome locations for weddings.
Camp Richardson - http://www.camprichardson.com/
Squaw Valley - White Wolf property
Squaw valley - across from squaw valley Lodge. Reception area right of off highway 89, by the truckee river.
I shot weddings on both the locations at squaw valley. Absolutely beautiful places for weddings.
There is an awesome caterer in the sacramento area who also travel - http://www.magpiecaterers.com/
I can help you finding/recommending others vendors as well. Please let me know how I can help. Feel free to email. Thanks.
Try Floral Expressions, they are in Reno but its not that far of a drive.
What side of the lake South or North? Edgewood is a great location, they do their own catering. The Chateau by Incline Village is gorgeous, dont know what your budget is though!
Let me know if you are loking for invites or reception items, I am in the area and would love to help you with that or any other questions you have have!

Hopefully, Photodee, you've found some places you like. I didn't see your post until it got bumped just now. If you haven't, I've done the research on virtually every possible North Lake Tahoe location. There are some beautiful places to choose from depending on your budget! PM me or bump the thread if you need more help.

Anyone have any suggestions on venues/vendors in the Tahoe, Ca area? We are trying for a September wedding in 2009 (quick turnaround, I know!).
Thanks for your suggestions
