Hah, one of my coworkers RSVPd yes for him and a date. He didn’t show up to the wedding. After I got back from the honeymoon, he said he’d worked all day and ended up working late that night.

Pro tip: Don’t tell the person that CONTROLS THE TIME CLOCK AT YOUR OFFICE that you worked late and had to miss the wedding…when she can easily see that you didn’t work at all that day.

My Fiance groomman new for a whole year that we are having our wedding on the boat and when my Fiance asked him to be in the wedding he told him again and again, wedding is on the boat…when we gave him the wedding invite…he said he can’t come and be in our wedding because he has a PHOBIA of WATER…

…not getting one.

One of my Darling Husband co-workers just didn’t show up despite taking a half day at work so that he could be sure to attend. To this day he just gets defensive about it and refused to answer my DH’s question about what happened.

One of my cousin’t didn’t come because he was “harvesting his pot”……seriously.

1. My supervisor is coming in to work this week.

2. My grandmother has been in town for the past 6 months and tonight is a night I want to go see her.

Both were from people who had RSVP’d and these excuses were given the week of the wedding.

One woman who would not send back her RSVP told me that she didn’t know I needed it back after I texted her and emailed her twice.

out of thrity people who no showed.. 5 people- she is incharged of girls camp and didnt realize it was the same day– so her husband and her son couldnt attend because its “awkward– her parents couldnt attend– no sure why she just said they probably wont come either– even though they were like second parents to me in highschool…

2 people had a valid reason- grandmother died funeral was suppose to be that day.. how ever i find out the funeral was the following week.

so 7 excuses out of 30.. not a good number at all and some people who clearly were my friends still have not acknowlege the wedding happened or that they said yes and no showed. yet they been posted random stupid stuff on facebook

I forgot to post mine.  DH’s cousin RSVP’d yes, with a guest, and he failed to attend.  Why?  He was going on vacation….why he forgot this while RSVPing yes, is beyond me…

I had one person say he had to cancel three days out because he thought his parents might be arguing that day.  Uh.. Sure.

But the best is still two people who came from 5 hours away, showed up to the ceremony and then came and told me duringcocktail hour that they don’t make it to this area often and wanted to go do something touristy to “make it worth their trip”.

I had a friend bail on a wedding by saying it was her due date. She wasn’t even pregnant….

@Absolute:  Wow, that one would be a pretty obvious lie!

We had a couple who told us they fell asleep. Totally rolled my eyes at that one. Another coiuple RSVPed for their kids, then didn’t bring them because they didn’t feel like coming.

I had a ton of people tell me the night before that they couldn’t find a ride. My uncle asked a week before the wedding if he could bring a date so I had to move a bunch of seats and redo escort cards… he decided to leave after the ceremony… I was soooo annoyed!
