I'm not sure what part of Houston you're in, but up on 1960 close to 249 there's a shop called Panache that has a bunch of really nice wedding dresses. They're all designer gowns but they're WAY marked down. I noticed that there are a bunch of larger sizes too. Most of the gowns will probably need a good ironing because they're in plastic on racks, but if you're looking for a great deal, I'd try there! Good luck!
David's Bridal actually has a wide variety of sizes for their dresses. I was pleasantly surprised. Panache and Brickhouse Bridals (Woodlands) had the dress I liked in size 10 only.
I know exactly how you feel and I recently went shopping for my dress a couple of months ago. I stopped at both Alfed Angelo and Davids and they did have a good selection. I decided to try a local place and I agree with Weddings by Debbie. I was really surprised that they had samples in a size that fit me and the consultant didn't make me feel fat. You are smaller than me so you will probably have more to pick from.
Thanks for the suggestions. We actually ended up at Ventura's and they had some selection that fit well enough to get on. Of course, not the dress that I really want, but between the David's Bridals and the Ventura's dresses I tried on, I know what looks I can work and which I can't.

I am planning on going shopping with my sisters in a few weeks for a wedding dress and I was wondering if anyone knows of any shops around Houston that carry larger sample sizes. I wear a street size 18 and would like to be able to see what the dresses actually look like on. We are already planning on stopping by a David's Bridal and an Alfred Angelo, but I was looking for some other suggestions if anyone has any. Thanks!
