Seriously frustrated with facebook. Trying to permanantly delete my account (not just deactivate) and I have to wait 24 hours before I can even log in?
But the frustrating part is that there is no contact email, no contact phone number. NOTHING! I am about to seriously boycott everything that has to do with Facebook and if i could think of a media outlet that would take me seriously, I would complain to the whole wide world! EFF facebook!

I totally had a similar problem trying to contact them when I had a problem (unrelated) a while back.
I did eventually find this for you though: http://www.facebook.com/help/?faq=224562897555674&in_context
There’e a link where you need to “submit a request” to have it permanently deleted. Might need to wait until the 24 hours is up though.

thanks very much! I just dont want to wait 24 hours! It’s my “life” and my profile, so why do they get to say when I can and can’t delete it? ARGHH!

That is frustrating. Feel better.

I was watching a documentary about FB a few weeks ago. apparently, you have to delete every single picture, and jump through all kinds of hoops in order to delete your account. They also still keep all your data on file and use it for whatever they want. Its crazy, makes me wish I never created a facebook account

@MrsSl82be:Are you serious? me too, then. I wish I never created an account. What was wrong with the telephone and meeting your friends for lunch, anyway?

thats ridiculous. How do they have no customer support whatsoever? I guess because you aren’t really a customer if you aren’t paying for something??

@PitBulLover: Well, they have links to follow. Do this, do that, account will be permanantly gone. However, what if there is something unanswered or urgent? I.e., I want my account deleted today, NOT tomorrow! I searched for an email address, phone number, nothing. And I think you’re right. It’s not a paid service. And/or, whats his name that created it dosen’t have to pay people to sit on the phone and wait for people like me to call, lol.

I had the opposite problem. A few years back I had an account with a BUNCH of pictures that I shared with my family overseas. My computer crashed, and I lost all the pictures off there. I wasnt too worried since they were on facebook. A few weeks later my count was “disabled” and I never got a response to my email as to why it was disabled! I know for a fact I wasnt offending anyone or violating the terms of service.

@jessiesbabe: yup, its called “Facebook Obsession” and it aired on CNBC. I would definitely check it out. THere was a girl on there and it took her 2.5 hours to delete all her pics, and then she had to jump through hoops just to get her account deactivated

How could Facebook not have a Customer Service Dept…LAME….
Sorry for all of the drama
you’re not really the customer, you are the product being sold. they don’t really owe you anything.
sorry! I couldn’t help but say it. *stepping down from soapbox now*
anyway, I agree with PPs. I HATE it when phone numbers of any business are not made available (or in some cases are buried with the hopes you won’t find it).
