All the resorts have wedding chapels, but htey also have outdoor spaces where you can hold you ceremony - like Bellagio's terrace, on rooftop terrraces, etc. Did you want an indoor space or outdoor?
These are off the Strip locations

Montelago at Lake Las Vegas -- http://www.montelagovillage.com/weddings/Reception/index.htm

Also, most of the casinos have banquet rooms. Some nice off the strip ones are M Resort in Henderson or Red Rock Casino in Summerlin.
BTW: Henderson and Las Vegas are connected to one another, so it isn't like you are driving to another city. Summerlin is a Las Vegas neighborhood.
Well our ceremony will be held at a very pretty outdoor site about 30 minutes from Vegas. Then we want a reception site maybe in a hotel that we can stay that night too. We want an evening reception, with dacing, DJ, all that fun stuff. Most pics I have seen the banquet halls look so outdated!
I'm an ecore bride. My first wedding was in Vegas and was not the stereotypical Vegas "Elvis" wedding. We were married at this place called La Chateau. It was a beautiful place. Only negative was that it was located in a strip mall. I did not like that; but, the ex insisted on this place given the one-stop shopping offered. It did turn out nice though. There are many many spots in Vegas that are not cheesy. Go to www.ScenicLasVegasWeddings.com
There is a new show on TLC starting this weekend called 'Happily Ever Faster'. Its all about a wedding chapel in Vegas. I forget which one it is, but maybe you could watch that for some ideas. Good Luck planning.
My colleague got married in Las Vegas this past August and she had a classy ceremony and reception at the Mandalay Bay. You can also arrange a package with The Four Seasons, they'll take care of creating a classy reception for you. The Four Seasons is a bit pricey, but luckily your guests don't have to stay there as there are plenty of hotels to choose from on the strip or around Vegas. Best of luck and congratz!!
Its great that you posted this!!! My sister lives in Vegas and is trying to get me to do a destination wedding there, so she keeps sending me links to places! Check this one out!!!

@NicLoop: When my sister and I were in Vegas, there were a TON of weddings at our hotel, the Flamingo. One wedding even had their reception at the enclosed adult pool (we could only see it because we were on like the 20th floor and we could see from the top) It's also a pretty moderately priced hotel so it might be in your budget.
Hey!
I'm actually in the process of looking for a reception site here in Vegas. I've checked out 4 places so far, all of which had packages and could hold the amount of people I am expecting, which is 150. I haven't chosen any yet and I'm still looking, but here are more options if you haven't looked at them yet:
The Wedding Room - http://theweddingroom.com/
Rainbow Gardens - http://www.ilv.com/rainbowgardens/
Silver Star Event Center - http://www.silverstareventcenter.com
Victoria's Chapel - http://www.avictorias.com/
Hope this helps!

So we are planning a DW for October of 2010. Neither of us have ever been to Las Vegas but we really like the idea of having it there for several reasons:
1) We both have always wanted a destination wedding, so it will feel more like a minivacation for everyone
2) It will kind of weed out some fo the guest list, to make for a less expensive wedding. We are inviting about 150 people but I am guessing only about 80-100 to come.
3) Vegas hotel rooms are quite affordable, and there is a lot to do there. Even if you dont like to gamble you can shop and just go sigh seeing!
So here is the thing, we DO NOT want that Elvis, super cheesey wedding thing. I am having trouble finding a reception site from online because I can NEVER find any pictures! They only have pics of the chapels in the hotels (and our ceremony will be outside so I have that covered).
Sooo my question who has been to Las Vegas/married in Las Vegas, and knows of some nice reception sites?
Any and all ideas are appreciated, thanks!
