So...it's official. We booked Las Vegas. I was initially not that enthused about it b/c we've been there twice together already (as well as apart), and I never thought of VEGAS as our honeymoon spot. But the time that we had available for our honeymoon was limited, so we couldn't really far away like Australia or Europe, and it needed to be something on the West Coast. I definitely wanted to do SOMETHING b/c I know I will need a vacation!
With this we got housing for free b/c its a timeshare, and we can just drive to vegas from LA, so all we will have to pay for is food & entertainment. The hotel is also pretty nice (jacuzzi tubs...hells yeah!), so it should be nice to even just be in our rooms. I refuse to actually call this our "honeymoon" b/c I want that to be in a romantic/exotic location such as Greece or Bali!
You'll have a good time! It's fun in Vegas and there are so many things to do there-you could even go to the Hoover Dam for a day and do that trip. All the shows, the free attractions in the different hotels. Maybe go down to Freemont Street for a day as well.
My sister's husband took her on a helicopter ride to Lake Vegas as a part of his proposal. If you are looking for a *spluge* activity, I would recommend a helicopter ride to Lake Vegas and getting dinner there.
I highly recommend any of Cirque du Soleil shows. You should also see if any of your favorite musiciaisn are performing in Vegas while you're there.

So, we are trying to use my mom's timeshare to go somewhere for a quick vacation/honeymoon right after the wedding (before we have to go to back to Philly & get ready for interview season). It would probably be about 5-7 days that we could stay there & we wanted to go somewhere that wouldn't take forever to get there. He's not a big beach person so Mexican/ Carribean resorts are out. There also aren't many places in the US that we'd really like to go, unfortunately.
I have a search on for the Napa area, which would be our 1st choice, but another option we had considered was Las Vegas. We've been to Las Vegas twice together. It's fun but neither of us are big gamblers--mostly b/c neither of us like losing money--and I know that will be even moreso after we finish paying for the wedding. We could catch a show, and eat buffets (mmmm...Wynn Buffet!), but I don't know that there is THAT much more to do there that we would do (well, besides the obvious honeymoon activities ;-)).
What would you guys do? Take the Las Vegas options that are available now, or wait for Napa/SF(or Hawaii) options that we are still waiting for?
Once we select something, we are pretty much "stuck" with it, so we don't get to keep looking & hope something better comes along.
