I seem to remember our officiant having to mail it in somewhere, but that was a different state. Call the person or place that will be responsible for marrying you- they will have this information.

I live in Las Vegas and from my understanding no. Here is the link you need to look at.

You will have to do everything in Vegas, so get married in SD on The Beach. Check out the various courthouses and see which one you would prefer to get married @ and do JOP. Once all the paperwork is complete, it should take 3wks to get a certified copy.
If you need something same day, you will have to be married in Sacremento by a JOP.(Family friend did this and he’s Airforce)
My Darling Husband and I got married in Dana Point 7/7 and we had our certified copy in 2wks. For LA it takes 6wks.

This is our officiant – since you are active duty and getting married on 9/5, you can see if he has space for “Military Mondays” – he will do your elopement for free at a nice location in San Diego. He did Fiance and my’s legal vows in March, and will be our officiant at the religious wedding in October.
If I remember right, we turned in our own license immediately, requested copies and got them within a week or so. However, if you need it rushed for military purposes, call the recorder and see the rush options. If you do use someone who specializes in military elopements, they may be able to give you good information.

@caliguy: I am getting married in Vegas in November and I will tell you exactly what happens… I needed to know for myself as well. The day you get married talk to your officiant and ask them if they charge extra (ours does $40) to get it to the courthouse on a RUSH… if they do ..pay them.. once you are officially married the next day if you ask them too ( The Chapel )only can you pick up your pictures and you Marriage Certificate ( Non Legal one) and there is a website you can go on to order it a.s.a.p. I am going on my honeymoon right after for a week so I would like it to to be at my House In Vancouver B.C by the time I get back from that. Just check and ask questions to the place the ceremony is happening.
