So DH took our bands to be engraved today and found out that with what he wants to put on my ring, it wont fit.  They can replate it (because there is a 14K marking and a marking from where it was purchased) to get rid of them and then they can most likely fit it all.  BUT, we were going to do regular machine engraving because we could pick them up in 1-2 days.  But the engraver suggested laser engraving where we can customize the font and it will be a cleaner look (and they can fit everything on my ring) however we wouldnt get the rings back for about a week.

Just an FYI, I have diamonds half way around the ring so the inside half where the diamonds are have little opening to let the diamonds "breathe" so it leaves half the ring to engrave.  We want to put "I love you too - B  06/20/09"  If its shortened it would read "I love you too - B"

So bees that have had their rings engraved, did you get machine or laser?  What did you like or not like about it? What would you suggest we do?

I haven't personally had my rings engraved, although I intend on getting FI wedding ring engraved. I have though seen what laser engraving can do, and it is pretty fantastic. Really what is an extra couple of days to get what you want? I say go for it, it is a much cleaner and smoother look too.

We engraved ours. Mine was done with regular engraving and his was done with laser (because it's Tungsten). His is 100 times better than mine is. Go with the laser. I was super anxious until I got it back in my hands because they had to send it out but everything worked great!

I had DH's machine engraved due to time constraints, and I wish I had gotten it hand/laser engraved. The font of the machine engraving we received is really box-y, and the lettering is in all caps. Laser engraving offers a lot more options/flexibility.
