I just finished up my BCPs last month. We're not TTC but we thought it would be a good idea to let my body start to regulate itself again, etc since I've been on them for 14 years. It feels a little weird not to take them every day, but I feel strangely liberated too. I have to say, since I stopped taking them I've found myself thinking a couple of times how I just feel better. I don't how else to explain it. I feel just sort of happier and more content. We're just using condoms now, but we have to find the right brand for us since we're not really used to using them!
YAY! I stopped taking birth control earlier this month. I feel WAY better! I don't have the dull stomach aches or headaches anymore. It's funny how after 7 years I grew very accustomed to them being part of my daily life. My skin is 100x better now, too!!! I used to get deep breakouts around my chin, but now, nothing!! And I'm not even being as religious with washing off my makeup every night!!!
We are using condoms for now (well, sorta). We only put one on about 3/4 the way through the deed..so I don't know how much protection that really gives us. I told my FI that BC was in his hands. He knows I want kids (and we're financially prepared for a baby), but we're getting married in September and honestly, I don't want to be a REALLY pregnant bride!
Congrats! I agree with Bakerella, I felt very liberated at first. It's great. I also feel much better off it and don't really ever want to go back on. I will say, main differences are my skin is worse (though not all cycle- just when I ovulate or right before my period), and my sex drive finally came back!! Woohoo. Good luck! (PS- It did take me 3 full months to get my first period, fyi)
My sex drive is through the roof, it is nuts. I havn't been like this since HS when we were relying on condoms, before I started taking BCP and they messed with my drive, I think Hubs is liking it too, he says the week ends are tough though! We did it 7 times last week end and so far we have done it 8 this week end and I think we can find time tonight for at least 2 more sessions, i literally want it 5 min after were done, I wish i'd have e quit years ago, would have saved alot of argueing
Mine went crazy right when i went off too, it's great! though 8 times this weekend, damn girl!! hahaha. Are you ovulating? i chart and only recently realized what i thought was just because i went off the pill is actually my sex drive being through the roof when i'm ovulating. our bodies are amazing!!
Yay, congrats! I stopped mine in February and felt nervous as well... but it's great!!

The one thing I don't like is that I tend to breakout a lot now.
One thing that surprised me was that, before, I never understood women that said the pill had killed their sex drive; mine was just fine. Strong, even. But now, I can see that the pill HAD killed my sex drive and it's through the roof... Hubby's afraid he won't be able to keep up... @monalisa670: is right about the drive being higher when ovulating... I mean, we'd do it in the morning before work, and at night I wanted more as if we hadn't seen each other for a week... But it calms down after ovulation.
We are not using anything else, the plan was to just let it happen, but I realized how hard it is not to get my hopes up.
I only had one period since going off the pill, the second is expected next week; but I am still on very regular cycles. I don't think it was very long before it was out my system.

Slightly nervous my last BC pill is less than a week away! Lot of emotions. What can I expect? How quitting affect you? Did you use condoms after BC. I have heard mutliple is more possible after quitting the pill, so I have told hubby to get condoms for the first few months after quitting. Plus I want to get the pill out of my system before TTC. Were going to FLA later this year, maybe we will come home expecting!!!
