When I was on BCP I always just gave the approximate date from the previous month’s cycle.  I know it’s technically different from a period, but I think it’s close enough to a generally understood definition.  Your medical forms or records should mention your current medications anyhow.  But I can see where the confusion may come in if you’re only getting a period twice a year.  I had post-pill amenorrhea and my gyno was very conerned when she heard it’d been five months since my LMP.

That’s interesting to me – coming from a U.S. perspective I don’t think I’ve ever had an appointment whether for a general checkup or for a test (blood draw, sonogram, etc.) where I wasn’t given a form to fill out or verify with my medical history which includes medications.  I would think that concerns like yours are a very valid reason for wanting to have all that info at hand.  And that tech should have better bedside manner regardless of her personal opinions, although it sounds like you handled it with grace!
