@alaskin17: I dont have any advice but the RSVP posts scare the hell out of me!
They worried me too and know I know why! :/ It annoys me because it seems some people don't realize its important to the people planning the wedding as well. I remember making sure to RSVP at weddings I have attended when I was 100% sure.
@alaskin17: Arg! How annoying! When do you make your final payment? Ours has to be one month before and I have a feeling I'll have people cancel after we pay which will make me crazy
@MrsRichard: we already did our final payment for everything except caterer. Food is a week before the wedding.

@alaskin17: irks me too! We gave our head count on the 1st, and the day before I got 3 cancellations. I kind of feel like either people really had no intent to come, or something "better" came along. I don't think many people realize how much planning, and how important Rsvp's are...if you can't go, you can't go...but don't decide at the last minute!!
I only got 1 last minute cancellation...and you have to hear the reason.
"We ordered meat (!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!) and we got a phone call saying that it's ready, so we have to go pick it up that day. Sorry."
UMMMM...
@alaskin17: I had 10 cancellations on the day of the wedding! Lucky you haven't paid the caterer yet and can "recoup" that money.

@Ryansgirl: 1 last minute cancellation isnt bad at all! :) I wish we would get 0 cancellations though. Wouldn't life be grand if people stuck with their word? I understand life happens, there a legit reasons (my FI's friend cancelled because he got last minute military orders...understandable)

These posts make me so glad that my final payment and arrangements are scheduled for 10 days before the wedding.

So we are down to 2 weeks until the big day and we are getting cancellations left and right....I figured that putting the RSVP date close enough to the wedding date would suffice so people could arrange plans, but really?
I get that "life hapens" but boy those things irk me so much! Sorry, I just had to vent! :(
