So I this is my 4th cycle TTC and the first one I didn’t do anything. The second and third I tried charting, and found it stressful. So this time around I think I’m going to take a stab at doing opk’s…which are expensive, btw! I know you can get them cheaper online, but since it was a last minute decision, I just picked some up at the drug store. Anyways, FF says that my predicted ovulation days are thursday Oot 17, Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th.
How many times a day did you ladies use opk’s and what time of day? Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it 🙂

Commenting to follow. This is my first cycle using OPKs and wonder the same thing.

Best time of day is afternoon- most accurate results. I used cheapies so I tested 3 times a day (overkill- I fully agree, but for 10 cents each why not.) I did buy some more pricey ones from CVS and used them once a day on my lunch break. Assuming your cycles are regular I would start on the 15th and test once a day until you get a definite postive. I BD’d everyday (-3O, -2O, -1O, O, 1DPO, 2DPO, 3DPO) too but that’s your call. If you need them next cycle go for the cheapies on Amazon…so much cheaper.

I got the cheapies off Amazon, I think like 30 bucks for 50 or 100, and they work just fine. I use it in the evening whenever I get home from work around 6-7. A lot of people do twice a day to make sure they dont miss the surge, but I’ve haven’t missed it testing once a day. I was also starting to test around day 20 (I O REALLY late) but I got lazy and just started testing when I got EWCM, and that has worked for me too.

I O early, CD11 or CD12, so I begin around day CD7 or CD8. I test twice a day, once with second morning urine, just before I leave for work, and again at about 8 p.m. I probably don’t need to test twice, as I always 2 days of OPK’s, so I have a pretty good surge, but since I buy cheapie OPK’s, I figure, wht not? I feel better knowing when it starts and when it ends. Good luck:)

@pinkshoes: I’ve bought mine from there too. I have a long cycle so guess I ovulate late. Silly question but is it a line that appears to show ovulation?

@CatyLady: The test line needs to be as ar or darker than the control to be positive, thus signaling ovulation is near.

Ok, so the opk that used later this morning, the test line was as dark as the control line. The one I used this evening was darker than the control line. My next question is, since I haven’t been temping this month, when should we stop BD’ing? Thank u! 🙂

@pittgirl4: I BD’d 3 days past O just in case I got it wrong.
