Have you looked into Round Hill? My FBIL is getting married there next October - it's not too expensive, very unique and has beautiful grounds.
I am in the same boat -- my partner and I were due to be married next June at the Bird & Bottle Inn. Such a shame. It's on the market for $1.9 million. We toured the Plumbush Inn in Cold Spring yesterday -- very nice, but not for us. It was disappointing to see this beautiful old inn and, in the back, a ballroom that looked like the NY Hilton. We want something more unique. Like you, any suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks.
oh no ! what a drag! for both of you brides!
try hiring a wedding planner....they would know of unique places we dont know or think of.we recently hired shea from elite(b)events and she is amazing to work with. when you first meet her she will seem crazy for telling you she can do your wedding for less than the budget you set ....atleast i thought she was crazy...but once she introduces you to the vendors she works with and quotes you their prices you see that they top quality vendors! but because of her connections they are super affordable! from what i understand they are the only budget wedding planners in the industry so give her a buzz and see how she can help you!
good luck

I found out today that the Bird & Bottle Inn in Garrison, NY is closing...for good. I had booked the inn for my ceremony and reception in June 2012 and now I have 7 months to find a new venue and plan a new wedding.
I loved the Bird & Bottle for a lot of reasons- its Hudson Valley location (and easy access for many guests coming from the city), having the ceremony and reception at the same venue and both outdoors, and having the staff there taking care of pretty much everything, not to mention their excellent food.
Now I'm looking for a venue in the Hudson Valley that will have the same quaint feel. It's going to be kind of a low-key wedding for 100, and I just want to find a place that is unique and cozy and not your typical banquet hall.
Does anyone have any suggestions maybe for something that is a little more off the beaten path that might still have Saturday availability 7 months in advance? Any help at this point is definitely appreciated...feeling lost and overwhelmed at this point!
