I would try it on and if you need it to be taken in, find a seamstress now!
I think you need to resign yourself to making that 3 hour drive - for your sanity's sake. You have to pick up your dress at some point, might as well do it now so if you need alterations, you can get them done.

Bees, I have a dilemma. My last fitting was a good 2 months before the wedding. I'm now about 3 weeks out and I've been losing weight (not in a good way - from all the stress!) I'm nervous now that my dress will be too big - its a strapless, so if its not nicely contoured to my body I'm worried it will slide down or that the girls will be exposed!
So what is a girl to do? The shop where I got my dress is 3 hours away, so its not realistic to go back there. I'm out of town this weekend for a friend's wedding, then I have to leave for my wedding a week later (its 3,000 miles away in my hometown.) Do I leave it be and hope for the best? Try to find a seamstress here that can help me in just a week's time? Try to find a seamstress out at my wedding destination? (That is not desirable because I'm in a rural area with no high-end dress shops or anything of the like.
Ideas??!?! I'm freaking out!
