So I quit BC Pills in January and we havn’t been using much protection as of late. I should have gotten my period this past week end, which i thought was no big deal until hubs asked if I got it, when I replied no, he was all giggly and happy and said do you think your, ya know, pregnant. I laughed and said no, he says are you not excited and I said, your not the one who has to be pregnant for 9 months!
Long and short of it, I thought no big deal of any of it until he reacted the way he did, now my mind is spinning. and i am getting kind of excited but don’t want to set myself up for ruin, if it does show up.

Take a test and find out!

Go test! If you’re already late, a test should be pretty accurate. Then you’ll know!

I agree with the PP – take a test to find out if you are before you get all excited!

Well, we can’t look into your uterus and tell you if that’s what you’re asking. I’d say the only thing to do is take a test.

I agree with everyone…test already! 🙂 Whether you find out now, or later, you aren’t going to change the result! I’d be way too impatient to wait until after I missed my period to test. Hope you get the results you want.

Test! I hope you end up with the answer you are looking for. 🙂

I bought a test and had a DR appt for something totally different but I explained i was late and should I take a test, she said I could get a false negative so she told me to wait until ten days after my missed period to test then let her know if I was positive!!!!

Go pee on that stick!! They may want to wait that long to confirm 100% but it should show up by now!

That’s a really strange response from the nurse… Most pregnancy tests are able to detect hCG 3-5 days BEFORE your missed period. I don’t think it would hurt to test now. You can always retest later if you don’t get your period within the next few days. And, if you’ve already missed your period, you can typically test anytime during the day (not just the morning) to get the results.

Just as an alternative view, I went off BC in January as well and I’m just getting my first period now. It does take your body a while to adjust and get back to your cycle, but since you had unprotected sex during this time, you should really test! I don’t know why on earth that nurse would’ve said that to you! Definitely test as soon as you want. I hope it all works out for you!

Have you had a period between now and the time you went off pills? Sometimes your cycles can be kind of wonky after going off the pill. That may have been why the nurse suggested waiting 10 days- not that it would take 10 days past a missed period to tell 100%, but that perhaps your period is not truly “late” yet (like, say, going off the pills caused your body to delay ovulation for whatever reason, and it hasn’t yet been 14 days since you ovulated).
