So my mother set up this account for me 10 months ago when I got engaged. I have done absolutely nothing with it up until this point. However, I am in desperate need of some stress relief and feel this might help. Although my wedding is only 52 days away, it's better late than never! I don't know exactly how this website works but I would just like to type my stress away. If I am doing this wrong(and if anyone even reads this) feel free to help me out. :) So...

The one particular subject of stress on my mind at the moment is invitations. I just had to get the DYI kind that you have to assemble and ofcourse add lace and pearls to the front to accent my vintage themed wedding. Now here we are 7 weeks away and I'm starting to have regrets. The assembly is done but the envelopes still need to be addressed and because I've already tapped in the inserts of the envelopes which makes them too thick to run through the printer without leaving black marks or crunching the corners up :P Luckily we had extra. So for now it looks like hand written is what it is going to come to. Blah. Luckily my mother and Aunt have beautiful cursive, I unfortunately do not. We did set our time schedule to get these out earlier than our "Amy Vanderbilt: Book of Etiquette" suggests. But according to schedule, we're late.

The caterer still has to be selected which also should have been done by now. Did you know that serving heavy ordearves cost MORE than a sit down dinner?? Neither did I, and now we must reassess the budget which some people like to avoid. I know my dad will take care of things the best he can but I don't want to totally drain the bank account. So, as far as reviewing budget and having all the major vendors selected at this point in time, we are late on that as well.

I love that I am getting married and I love everything I have been doing to have a beautiful wedding the way I dreamed it would be, but I never knew that the actual planning part and making a "dream wedding" happen would make you want to shoot yourself in the face. I took it easy while I finished college and knew I would hit it hard after graduation in December but all the stuff that still has to be done and all the details that have to be taken care of and topping it off with a full time job can be extremely overwhelming sometimes.

So with all that said, I am Late on many things, but this helps detox myself and relieve strees and I know at the end of the day it will be okay and everything WILL get done.

My moto "The show goes on!"

My next post will be much more positive and hopefully will include pictures and tips of all my DIY projects that I've had up to this point for the wedding :)

Take a deep breath - it'll be okay! At the end of the day, you'll be married and you won't care about the etiquette slips.

I find it really helpful to prioritize my to-do list, that way I get the things done that are really important (like finding a caterer Wink) done before DIY projects that are just for fun.

    Best of luck!

@toshella:  Oh I totally have the to-do lists down, I could not live without them. The deep breath I'll have to remember to do. Thanks for reminding me :) My future husband keeps telling me the same thing, that at the end of the day when we're married all the little details won't matter, I guess I should start listening to him, hehe!

    Thanks for the advice!
