Hope I put this in the right section.
I’m always pretty regular, average 30/31 days. My last period was August 27, which came 2 days early. I was due for AF earlier this week. It’s now Saturday, and nothing. Not even the usual cramps I get. SO and I only DTD on chart days 8, 9, and 21. He wore a spermicidal condom each and everytime (I’m very paranoid about that) and it did not break (we check each time). Possibly TMI warning, but he only finished in the condom in me once (day 9).
I’ve been late before (34 days), but that was almost 2 years ago. Like I said, I’m pretty regular, and even if not, I at least get the cramps for a few days before I start. SO and I are CBC and thus do not ever want kids. So naturally I am FREAKING OUT right now. It’s nearly 6am and my mind is going through a million things. I haven’t tested yet, mainly because I keep hoping AF will just show up, and also SO and I don’t live together and I want to do it with him in case I am pregnant (ugh).
Can anyone help ease my mind?! What could cause late periods? I’ve tried taking vitamin C, had 3 cups of parsley tea, nothing seems to help. I was sick with the common cold at the beginning of this month, and my college classes started up again full time. Could this affect it?

Stress can definitely affect it, but I would take a test just to be sure.

Sounds like you to appropriate precautions. From my own experience, and from anecdotes from others, once you accept pregnancy as a possibility, AF will come. If you’re stressing waiting for it, you’ll be waiting a while.

I’ve been there, so first thing is to relax…or try to! It sounds like you really shouldn’t have to worry at all. I used to be a 28/29 day girl and now mine is anywhere from 28-36 days. It changed so abruptly it scared me for awhile and still does sometimes. I have two older sisters and they have said they’ve been a week late before with no reason why either.
I would test just to put your mind at ease, I always prefer to test with SO as well so I hear ya.
I hope you find your answer soon. I hate when this happens to me too 🙁 and it makes me want to throw up with worry…which doesn’t help!

If you used condoms, properly, every time it is (highly) unlikely, but not impossible, that you are pregnant. My guess is that your cold and the stress starting classes this month delayed ovulation by a few days. Both illness and stress can throw your cycle off. Read Taking Charge of Your Fertility, if you haven’t.

Thank you bees! I still haven’t gotten AF, am going to test tomorrow night. All day I’ve gotten the “pre crampy” feeling, so hopefully tonight or tomorrow. I chart as well, but this month was a bit hard to pinpoint ovulation..think it may have been the 13th or 14th.

Update: AF is here (never thought I’d be happy to say that lol). I swear it was the parsley tea that helped and all your helpful words. So relieved!!
