I'm getting married next weekend, and my girls are wearing little black dresses. I thik they'll look great - or at least I hope so! :)
I'm getting married Labor Day weekend this year, and I've just told all of my bridesmades to get black knee/tea-length dresses. In my mind, loose fitting, summer-type black dresses would fit Labor Day better than fitted cocktail LBD, but I suppose that would depend on the vibe of your wedding, as well. Either way, I don't think that you can ever go wrong with black dresses!
My friend had a very casual, picnic-style wedding where the bridesmaids all wore LBD's. They looked adorable and I don't see any reason why you shouldn't!
i was supposed to be in a wedding in just a few weeks (it was cancelled - long story) and we bridesmaids were going to wear long, black, satin dresses. Her colors were black, white, and yellow, and the yellow really popped and made it still look summery.
I think that sounds great! It's my plan to do the same thing when the time comes, even just so that my bridesmaids can have the joy of wearing their favourite LBD when the time comes (no pricy BM dress needed).
i think it's a great idea esp if it' something they'll be able to wear again. then again, i'm from ny.. we wear black year-round. one thought tho: will they be outdoors a lot? black tends to absorb heat more... (or maybe it's just a psychological thing with me!)
We are doing little black cocktail dresses for our Memorial Day weekend wedding! I think these days pretty much anything goes!
I think black dresses look classic and elegant, no matter what time of year. My gals wore them and I'm so glad. They look great in the photos, especially the black and white shots. They're classic and timeless AND the gals can wear the dresses again!
We're doing black BM dresses with bright bouquets for our wedding at the end of the month -- I love this look!
I think it's a great idea, and very budget friendly for your BM's! IMO, it's very classy looking.
I agree with everyone above.. I love black and it is also a flattering color on any bridesmaid.. Our colors are going to be black, yellow, and white and I am either thinking of a yellow sash or yellow flowers to make them pop.. Very stylish and classy..
I am so lost on my color scheme and bridesmaid dresses. Black is so pretty one of my color debates. I just put up a post needing advice too. I was thinking old hollywood, then more organic looking drawing the green from outside the windows in...then it was black and white, then it was greyish purple, now I'm thinking buff or petal pink and like two hours ago it was black or grey purple- so hard to pick. If anyone has any tips for me... Id love them...Im super stressed :(

Wedding next labor day, going for an indian summer feel with rich greens and yellows and sunflowers for sure. Want to keep it casual yet classy, and "little black dresses" seem to fit the bill and would really make sunflower or brightly colored bouquets "pop" - but i'm wondering if the black would just look/feel out of place with the season. thoughts?
