I know…I know…I should know better, but we’ve waited till the last minute to return our RSVP card to a friend’s wedding. We mailed it late today and the deadline is July 15. We don’t have Saturday mail delivery in Canada, so I highly doubt it will arrive in time.
We aren’t particularly close to these friends, so it’s not like we talk all the time. Should we email them to let them know the card is in the mail, but we will be attending and our menu choices or do you think it’s ok if it only arrives on Monday (the day after the due date)?

It should be fine! I know I waited until the Wednesday after our due date (it was a Saturday) to start contacting people. You would be surprised at the number of RSVPs we got on that Monday and Tuesday from people being late!! 🙂

i’m sure it will be fine. if they don’t get it soon enough i am sure that they will contact you as most brides do.

@smiles4jo: It can’t hurt to email just to put their minds at ease. My SO and I did the same thing recently… just lost track of the days. He was a groomsman, though, so they obviously knew we were coming, but we emailed them to apologize, let them know our meal choices, and say the RSVP was on the way.

I wouldn’t worry that much about it. We got plenty of rsvps that were likely put in the mail on the due date rather than actually sent to arrive by the due date. I padded a couple days before I actually needed to know to allow for late rsvps.
