Curtains! Finally. They’re just cheap solid curtains but the house feels much more homey in a way after putting curtains up!

I guess you could call this a purchase! We bought the wood anyway, and then we built the shelving. That was how our time last weekend was spent.

@pengoala:  Thank you! It’s soon much better, no idea why the builders made such a low square hole for a TV. It looked so silly before!

I love buying old bric-a-brac and junk, and just got this beaut of an antique tea set which goes beautifully with all my vintage crap!

I had a bunch of gift cards from our wedding left so I went on a shopping spree! It was so much fun!! Bought some curtains and a laundry hamper for the bathroom, bought some storage baskets for clothes in the closet, new pillows for the couch and a whole bunch of new kitchen gadgets!

Gift cards are the best 🙂

Next will hopefully be some new windows!!

A mattress! OUCH – right in the wallet! Why are mattresses so expensive?

I gotta admit, it’s worth it though. I feel totally geriatric, but I think our old mattress was giving me legit back problems. I’m confident that this nice new firm one will help 🙂

In the last week way too much stuff!  A second duvet cover since we now have a guest bedroom, locks, bar stools, slidy things for the bar stools to protect the floors, indoor garbage cans, outdoor garbage cans, nightlights (I feel like a house needs them in the hallways even when it’s only adults) lawnmower, sprinklers, hose, weed whacker, a bunch of other stuff.

We need more furniture eventually, but we’re feeling kinda poor right now.  Frown lol We were planning on waiting anyway.  Right now we still have boxes and junk all around.

Just bought a $800 dishwasher with some of our wedding gift money.  Ugh, I didn’t want to spend money replacing our dishwasher so soon, but hey… I am looking forward to a working dishwasher!

The last big thing we bought was a new washer. Man, we need curtains so bad – especially after I discovered the neighbors can see through the blinds in our kitchen! (probably the front too but I don’t like thinking about that!)
