I just emailed my florist regarding changing our groomsmens’ white rose boutonnieres to lavender roses to better match the look of the bridal party. However, she cautioned that the ivory roses last longer and the lavender ones “seem to blow open faster.”
Has anyone had lavender rose boutonnieres for their bridal party? Did you have any problems? Would love to see photos if anyone has them!!

I haven’t done this but I LOVE flowers and found a couple of images, the lavender roses are very pretty!

I am getting married on the beach in Bahamas next weekend- and my groom will be wearing a lavender rose boutinerre. So, no experience yet, but I’ll let you know my experience after the fact! 🙂

Some roses do open faster than others, but open roses are just as pretty as closed roses (they’re even prettier IMO!).
Here’s an example of a closed rose bout, and an open rose bout:
As long as you don’t have a problem with them opening sooner than white ones do, I say go for it! I would.
ETA- There are a lot of contributing factors to how fast a flowers open or droop as well (weather, being touched, etc). While I’ve never experienced a huge difference between white and lavender roses opening at different times, I do know that lavender roses usually smell slighty sweeter!

Thank you guys, you have made me feel much better. I don’t mind the look of the more open boutonierre and I think it would be more important to have the colors be right.
I think we’ll just take our chances… we are doing all the photos except for bride & groom before the ceremony so hopefully they should be fine!
